1.) Great, you thought Clown-lin and company had it all figured out.

2.) Hopeful, you knew we still had a tough road to ahead, but you had hope in doing something, like winning a playoff game.

3.) Grumpy, you were well aware of what lied ahead, you knew it was fake hope, Tomlin was still in charge.

3. I thought that we were living outside of our fears and unleashing hell, obviously. Then I remembered who the HC was, got deflated realizing the inevitable choke job on the horizon and wished that Art 1 was still alive.

I was hopeful. I'm always hopeful. It is more fun that way. I can't imagine constantly going through every season waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I find it fascinating that many of you so hate Tomlin's, "We don't live in our fears" comments, yet that is what many of you do with all this angst over the upcoming season.

10-3 was better than I'd expected, I had them picked to finish third in the division. I knew they'd lose the WC game if they got to the playoffs.
Losing the last 4 games didn't surprise me at all. I picked them to finish 10-7.

Number 2. I made the statement now the season actually starts(because we were playing some of the best teams). A few blasted me for saying that.

I never would have guessed the total collaspe though.

I think many fans could see the difficult late season schedule. Many feared 4 losses in a row. Well, it turned out to be 5. We didn't belong in a playoff spot late last year.

I was watching, hoping that Tomlin would change my mind about him. Even posted that here. I didn't trust the record we had.

I distrusted the record so badly, that I posted here, and made predictions to local friends, that we wouldn't win another game this year.

Shoulda got them to place bets with you lol

I knew the league screwed us with our schedule. Despite what people try to say after the fact we all knew it was going to a very very hard finish. With Pickens missing significant time it became insurmountable, and defenses figured out how to shut down an older less mobile Russ who couldn't beat pressure and see over the line. The defense fell apart due to two things some poor play but more importantly a total lack of support from the offense. We would have a far different perspective on the defense if we had managed to score and hold onto the ball longer. There have been a very few defenses that could overcome the lack of points and time of possession we had late in the season.

Thought Russ was cooking and the 11-day gauntlet would be tough, but that they’d at least go 1-2 and be competitive and then be competitive in the playoffs, esp if we son the division.

The biggest disappointment was probably the defense, just helpless at times against the good teams, then when you hear Edelman say and Ben confirm that they really don’t scheme and just try to fire guys up to “beat their man”, the hope drained out of me.

I don’t care who the QB is, we have a head coach who verbalized that he likes to win defensive games after the 44-pt game vs. Cincy, and a defense that can’t win those games because they’re put in position to fail against the best teams by the same coach.

You want to win with your defense you HAVE to scheme up pressure at times, you have to let your playmakers do more than sit back 30 yards to prevent big plays which happen anyway, and you can’t sit in nickel D vs. Derrick Henry and the Ravens 2-TE offense and get bludgeoned all game.

We are outcoached in every big game, not changing until change happens there, either a whole new staff or someone else hiring seasoned coordinators and letting them run their units.

Chiefs and Ravens had the same schedule — 3 in 11 days. Both went 3-0. No excuses.

It starts with Dan stepping away to be ambassador to Ireland in the summer of 2009.
And then LeBeau and Polamalu retired at the end of the 2014 season.
With the exception of Ben and HEEEEEEEEEATH, all other Cowher players and coaching staff are now gone.

So you need only to focus on 09/01/2015 to present.
You can look at the totality of the games played and the outcomes.
10 years, more than 1/2 of Tomlin's coaching career.
7 playoff appearances. 3 playoff wins (2 in 2015 and 1 in 2016 seasons).
No playoff wins since 2016 season in 5 appearances, with losses to the Jaguars and Browns as "highlights".

This futility is all on Tomlin and Art II.

When you start a new thread, at the top of the text box you'll find tabs marked "Discussion" and "Poll", if you click on "Poll" you can pose your lame *** "I hate Mike Tomlin" questions there for voting.

You're welcome.

Not to pile on, but those 3 playoff wins came vs. backup QBs Matt Moore and AJ McCarron, and Alex Smith. If not for Burfict and Pacman melting down at the end of the Cincy game, that is a loss to a backup QB after blowing a 15-pt 4th quarter lead.

I sure as helll did not expect to see TJ Watt running straight upfield, like Durpee in his first three seasons, with a blank stat line for the last two games the Steelers played.

Ain’t that the truth. We all knew it was a tough stretch. But it’s how we lost. How we played. They never scored over 17 points in the last 5 games.

Our D was as much to blame as any other part ofnour team. Giving up 12 minute drives. All runs. For a TD. Non willing to make adjustments for whatever reason. Playing soft coverage mostly. Rarely blitzing.
