I thought I remembered guys in very heated discussions regarding how good he was and why we should have taken him on here. They were all saying the injuries would be fine. I do not know if those guys are even on here anymore just remember the discussions because this is the place I try and learn about the draft picks, we gennerally have guys on here that look into it with a lot of passion.Never understood drafting that running back out of South Carolina. Lattimore wasn't it? I mean I understand taking a late round flyer on a previously injured player who has proven that he's almost back; the Rats did it with McGahee and it worked out fairly well for them. But, Lattimore was coming off of at least two knee injuries requiring surgery if I remember correctly and was nowhere near healthy.

I could be misremembering but I think TMC was of the opinion that he would heal up and the pick would end up being a steal. There were a couple of others who held that opinion also, but I can't remember who.
I don't think there was anyone who thought that it was a slam dunk pick, because the "if the leg heals up" was a big "if". "If" that had occurred, he was a steal at that position. Sadly, for him, that didn't happen. I was pretty positive that, with NFL trainers, he would have a better than even chance.
We could have taken him over Landry Jones and, probably, be no worse off than we are now.

The Bills drafted McGahee, he was there for three years before going to Balt. They drafted him in the first round also...
This, it was a big discussion, but it was always hinged on the big IF. His knee injury was very gruesome, and there was plenty of doubt around his ability to come back from it.
How has Landry looked when you watched him in practice this year? Any progression? Was he a worse choice in Rd4 than Manziel was in Rd1? Remember we were looking for a backup not Ben's replacement.
