Every week we see Watt get chipped by a TE, then after that is the the RT and a rb or OG waiting to double him, and it's the same every week.
What happens when we play the guy that leads the NFL in sacks? We leave him one on one over and over again, he was killing Dan Moore and we didn't give him help, especially on obvious passing downs. The damn blueprint is right there being done to our guy every damn week.

Pretty sure our position coaches have the answer... they scream "git gud" whenever a guy is getting dominated... after all coaches cant actually do anything , its all on the players🤣

I think they got spoiled by Moore playing pretty well the first half of the season and they are slow to adjust to him going back to his normal self.

They need to chip or use rollouts. Most of Russ's sacks are when he gets trapped in the pocket and can't escape. He's not tall enough to see over the OL when he has to step up in the middle.

They need to plan for the OL to fail in pass protection. Start the game with that assumption and don't wait until mid 2nd quarter to realize it.

I've never been a fan on Mike Tomlin....the guy won a Super Bowl with Bill Cowher's team!

When Cowher struggled as a Head Coach it was because he played the game too conservative and played not to lose. He was a control freak but when he finally realized what was preventing his success he made the changes and was still growing as a Head Coach. I hate the fact that he retired when he did.....I know his wife was battling cancer and she ultimately passed away in 2007 and I'm sure his 3 kids and his wife's declining health factored big into his decision to retire. I really think he still had some good years left in him and with a franchise QB like Ben who was just beginning his career. I think he could have accomplished more than Tomlin did in his early years! His 2 worst seasons were in 1998 & 1999.....where you could say they had December meltdowns losing 3 or 4 of their last 5 games. Not in any other season no matter how terrible the QB was did he ever have a December collapse....ala Mike Tomlin who has had 8 December collpases in 17 seasons as Head Coach. Cowher only had 2 December collapses in 15 seasons!

The problem with Mike Tomlin is his lack of adjustments in game and having his team prepared on Gameday! Since week 6 of this season we have seen teams absolutely game plan to take TJ Watt out of the game by always having 2 or 3 guys on him. When this happens to other players of his caliber...such as Myles Garrett we've seen Jim Schwartz move Garrett around on Defense to give him a better opportunity for a mismatch out there. I've seen a handful of plays where Watt wasn't in his 3 point stance on the left side like usual. Watts lack of production is certainly not due to poor effort on his part. The guy is playing his a$$ off out there. Same thing goes for when you see Dan Moore struggling against Hendrickson last night....and Tomlin never gave Moore any help. Perhaps if they made adjustments like other teams did when it comes to TJ Watt the Steelers could have had more success last night.

When I look at all 3 Head Coaches....Noll, Cowher, & Tomlin.....I can honestly say Bill Cowher did the most with the least talent at the QB position! I wish he didn't retire when he did but I understand why he left.

You know, this is really only a problem because poor Dan has one shorter leg, so he cannot play RT, and, well, their are no Steeler formations to help a LT. So we will just have to hope Dan gets a bit better next week. Thankfully Garrett and Hendrickson are both golfing now!

We're gonna be just fine, because I doubt the Rats noticed the multiple sacks/hurries and pocket breakdowns.

that was just a narrative when it came to Cowher, the 1994 AFCCG we threw the ball 52 times in that game, and didn't trail until halfway through the 4th qtr, so it wasn't to catch up.
1997 AFCCG we were leading, in FG range to go up two scores and we come out throwing, and Kordell throws into triple coverage in the endzone for a pick.
2001 AFCCG, we only ran the ball 9 times in first half.

It's so frustrating when you watch you DPOY guy be allowed to be schemed against every game and we do nothing to help him, send some blitzers to keep them from dedicating so many guys to Watt, we rarely do that, move Watt around, we rarely do that. Then we can't even block elite pass rushers because we refuse to give help against them, when we watch it happen all the time to Watt. It's so frustrating and dumb to watch.

so basically everything that has to do with game planning and x&o's.

In case anyone is unaware, Mike Tomlin won a SB with another man's team.
The longer into his tenure it gets, the harder it is for anyone to disagree with this. Everything started to change when those coaches and players began retiring/leaving and Tomlin took more and more control over everything.

Yes but if the weather permits we will get a chance of seeing a cool pair of CHIPS shades.

This truly is bizarre and is all on Tomlin. He never makes adjustments even when a brick is being pounded time after time after time right in his face.

C'mon Tom...we all know that it's hat on hat, and Dan is "lacking self-awareness and is having a difficult time working within the framework of working with others and man, the Steelers are a communal society". <-- Tomlin's quote from hard knocks

Tomlin has this bullshit mano e mano mindset and telling players they need to play better rather than scheme to strengthen deficiencies. Dan is just one example of many. Pass rush isn't getting to the QB, the front 4 need to play better. Blitz? Pffff. They need to just play to the standard of championship football.

Tomlin is egotistical, narcissistic, solipsistic, and more stubborn than an old blind burrow.

And spot on. His ego road blocks this team.

I can give many examples and have thrown out some already.

No doubt this team needs a new HC. As we have seen you can change the OC but Mike still needs to be right.

Love Cowher named one of my dogs after him. But chances are he would not have one a Super Bowl with the owner drafting big Ben.

Who is to know. But again Cowher probs does not win a super bowl without a franchise qb
Probably not, neither does Tomlin then lol. Most coaches need the franchise QB, see Belichick. This is why I always say Joe Gibbs doesn't get enough credit, he won 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QB's none of the 3 were really franchise QB's.

Andy Reid.

Tomlin is not going to win a super bowl anytime soon. He couldn't with a franchise qb in his prime.
Lord knows he won't with out 1

He has been like this from day one.

I got a lot of flack from the fan club I ran, for predicting that he would be outcoached by Green Bay in the superbowl. He was. Thier back field was shredded by injuries, and he did the running game thing. Ben was his QB. So stupid. That sb was ours to lose, and we did.
