Not really. It actually opens up city heavy states like NY or CA to the Republicans as there are red areas. It still gives the States the same power they have now and gives Congressional Districts more power. I would say in fact it gives more power to all the states and more relevance.

Just to clarify, the United States does not have a single national election. They are all state elections including the presidential election. That is the beauty of the Electoral College. There are 50 state elections to elect the electors to the Electoral College. The votes for the presidential candidate are not in reality for the candidate but for the EC. We are a Republic not a Democracy, a fact that is lost on many stupid people who think the Dems are right in trying to erase the Electoral College, wonder why ?
