Some perspective to cleveland's QB folly...

Agreed but meant like the problems created will last a decade. Loss of picks and salary cap jail loss of talent.

I’d agree with this 10 year domino affect. Losing the draft picks is bigger than the monetary loss, in my opinion.

Yes while he is there it kills the cap, but that is only 4 years with a ghost of it for probably six from the talent you had to let walk. The three first rounders is huge. What am I saying about my own talent evaluation if I say in three years of top say 25 picks, I cannot land my own player of this caliber? Like its just ridiculous. Oh and the Steelers probably got as good a player last year in one try. But in my opinion Mayfield with a decent team around him could be just as good.

I hear yay SteelerSask, Draft capital is no small potatoes. It’s not just the year you lose the pick it’s the possible 10yr period of the player that you lose as well. I know not all are 10yr picks but 1 out of 3 first rounders more likely than not, are a ten year pick.

Guarantee that the talent they received for the 3-1st round picks could have been found in one of the three picks and without the mon ey.

Cleveland is Cleveland for a reason and that long list of QBs continues. Watson will be out of the league in 3 to 4 years, probably just as the contract expires.

To be fair, does it really matter if the Browns traded those picks away or if they had kept them and flushed them down the toilet picking craptastic busts with them? Lol

I hear yaz masinsomniac

Cleveland picked top 10 for several years, there was even once they had 2 of the top ten 1st round picks………..

Yet the Factory of Sadness is real and alive!!!

It’s amazing how relevant, over the years, the STEELERS have remained relevant (until recently but not due to draft position).

Imagine what the browns would look like if they had to consistently pick middle tier.

These guys are getting paid regardless. Imagine making Watson’s money working just 20 weeks a year
I could live the rest of my life on just one of his paychecks.

A different perspective to the Clowns QB folly.

Ill buy it if we end up with the best QB in the AFC North!

Steelers QB situation suddenly best in AFC North and team has Browns to thank for it

Pickett is three years away from a contract extension, and if Jackson and Burrow end up in acrimonious negotiations that see them leave the AFC North or cause the Ravens and Bengals to sacrifice personnel to pay their quarterback large amounts of money, that puts the Steelers in a strong position over the next three seasons. It gives them the ability to build the best roster in the division around a rookie quarterback and find their way to the top of the division. They should send a thank-you note to Jimmy Haslam and the Browns if it happens, because they made it possible.

The author must have had Acrisure in his head when he wrote this.

The Fighting Pickett needs to prove himself before being. Anointed the golden one.

I like what I see so far, but he still has a way to go.

No doubt.
Not saying it was you, but some people according to the comments to the story didn't get the gist of the article.
The article wasn't about Pickett. It was about the good situation the Browns folly put the Steelers in.

I get that, but also by stating the good situation it puts the Steelers in also alures to Fighting Pickett performing well to take advantage of the situation.

All good

This is what I love about KP.

He is a student of the game, loves film, and can't get enough of the coaching experience (in on the gameplanning meeting, QB meeting, then the meeting when they go over the gameplan with the whole offense. He asked to do this. Peyton was this way. Lived and breathed football. Not sure if that is what they really liked about him when he was in the building playing for Pitt.

No doubt Stryker, always good to hear participation above and beyond.

I think he will develop nicely. BEN wasn’t that type, the one to overly study, so we will see a bit of a difference in that regards.

What a great point, you are dead right!

Ben was a gunslinger. I'm not sure how much work he put in on film. He was elite at blitz busting, but he seemed to win mostly on athleticism and size.

I heard plenty of those rumors, read the articles. I tend to think pre injury pre party Ben probably leaned more on his god given talents than post injury post party boy. He seemed to be more focused the older he got. I wasn't behind the scenes but my guess would be somewhere within this summary. To what level of film study? Who knows. To further guess I would think Kenny is a little more study habit but then again he isn't on that level that he can afford not to be.

ToTally agree slash. I wasn’t taking anything away from BEN, our super star HOF QB. I was just making to point out a difference in the two.

BEN got Wednesdays off, and some said he didn’t come in whereas, from what some say….. Fighting Pickett more likely than not, comes in if in the same scenario.

Either way, BEN appears to have been more athletically talented and relayed on that where as Kenny is agreeing mentally to over come the shadow.

If the Browns were consistently picking in the middle tier they'd be looking a lot better than they have done the last 10+ years, as it would mean their record would consistently be 7-10 (6-10, 7-9 in 16 game seasons) or better.

Since 2012 the Browns have had 15 first round picks 17 if you count them trading their first in 2018 for Giants former first rounder OBJ and Houston former first rounder Watson last year…. They get top of the first, middle of the first and bottom of the first round picks heinously wrong all the same lol

And that’s what the Browns bring to the table. It is harder to pick correctly in mid to lower round so I think they would fail even more in that regards.
