Spending trillions you don't have might cause unwanted side effects? Who knew?

FSF, the problem is that China is bullying Europe into becoming their toadies. China has also spent tens of billions on infrastructure in Africa and they now have an almost unique access to rare minerals in that continent absolutely necessary to today's technological developments (florite, zircon, etc.), such as cell phones, flat screen TVs, electric cars, airplane turbines. Most of those minerals now come from China.

So China controls the resources needed for a vast array of **** we depend on, and controls the other source for such minerals. China also is not hindered by environmental restrictions like the developed world. So when China has a stranglehold on rare earth minerals, manufacturing, exports and available capital, it will dictate the terms of the monetary policy.

God bless your belief that the developed world will not allow a totalitarian regime to control the world currency. I don't. share that optimism As long as they make a bunch more money, the powerful will not care what happens in China. They don't today - China engages in fraudulent trade deals, corporate theft, lying, currency manipulation, and is punished how exactly?

Yeah, thought so.
Steeltime, China has been bullying Nations for years, securing resources around the Globe and setting up military protection at high level.

It's no surprise they go to weaker European nations and "bully" them. Europe is and has been royally f'd up Demographically for years. Population decreasing because they have fewer and fewer children - the same mess that Japan is facing now - so their economies don't grow, f'd up border policies, a generation that has lived with too much convenience (something that we are dealing with here too) ... So yeah, they are a monster because they are effectively the epitome of corruption. Slide the money into the right persons hands and they look the other way.

I'm a student (as a hobby) of history. Every single dictatorship regime eventually collapses from within. China as a communist state vs. Soviet Union as a communist state (technically speaking that's an oxymoron but it's closest can get to accuracy) is definitely not the same. China doesn't suppress things like entertainment which USSR did, and you know this from the Berlin Wall era. But I can't escape that demographic issue. 30-40 Million more men than women - men who are now at marriageable age and there are no women. Can you imagine the frustration of being in your 20s and having little to zero chance of finding a mate? The overpopulation problem will become a massive imbalance of an acceleration of an aging population (Japan's going through it now). This impacts faster than you'd think.

One thing that US has going in its favor, a rising birth rate (2007 was higher than that of the peak of even the baby boom) and a general trend upwards. I've heard simpletons try and argue "Thanos is right" BS and just laugh at the stupidity. It's a reverse pyramid and that is what most of Europe is going through, Japan mathematically speaking is gone as we know it in less than 40 years and China will have a major problem on its hands as well.

It's interesting to see it play out. But internally, China is far from stable. Not saying we're perfect, cuz we got some dumbass leadership that is thinking of what's best for me now or too stupid to see what is happening in front of their eyes.

I see a significant difference in terms of population replacement* as between France, Denmark, Spain, Japan and China.

* Because that is really what we are talking about in terms of "population growth." If birth rate is lower than the number needed to replace those perishing, the population declines. If the birth rate is higher than the number who perish, or if immigration (something China does not really have) increases the population significantly, then the population goes up.

Europe's birthrate has been below replacement level for years, I'm thinking mostly because Socialism keeps their economies slow and it's too costly to raise kids. This is why their governments have been letting in a bunch of Muslims, they need the workforce because they will not have enough of their own people working to pay the taxes to support the Socialism.

I think they eat too much cheese. It bogs down the blood flow and they can't get it up.

Science.

Invest where ever you wish. My best guess is that the economy will crash so significantly that we all will be screwed. The only thing I won't do is allow my house to be taken. That's something I will fight for.
Buy ,food, supplies, clothes and bullets. All that other **** won't matter if this country collapses.

At that point it gets nasty for those responsible in government...lol. Always does. Good popcorn moments.

So, now try to guess why I live in small town Wyoming.

Oh I do envy you. In times like these I miss my tiny little hometown of Kittanning, Pa. Which I lived 8 miles outside of that on a farm with nothing but nature and peace.

Actually, China does suppress entertainment. They own much of Hollywood and will not allow movies to depict the Chinese in a negative light.

That’s true, To be more precise China doesn’t suppress entertainment like USSR did. They allow many things, edited to their approval. The Star Wars poster couldn’t feature a black man so Jon Boyega was removed from promotional materials.

USSR let nothing in. Granted different time and different technology. China”s “firewalls” must permit incoming traffic in to be World Power. Otherwise you’re North Korea and not able to be a player on world economic stage.
