So lets pretend our head coach is super scared of getting beaten deep, so he constantly plays his safeties back and his CBs in man off instead of man press like the D was designed to do

Then lets pretend that our front seven were creating super fast pressure so teams were passing to really fast short routes... and that other times they were running to the outside a lot as well, because tge DBs were playing so far off...

At some point dont you bring that coverage up, trust your pass rush to not allow that deep shot and counter all that?

Or do you just continue to piss down your leg at the thought of that deep shot?

I think a lot of people still pretend this guy can even make in game adjustments on the fly.

I have always questioned this with Tomlin. How many times has the word "outcoached" been used on this site over the years?

When have we ever watched him go over to a coordinator and tell them to change something based on what he is seeing on the field? You guys that go to the games? Does he ever?

I mean, I watch guys like Matt Lafleur, Kyle Shanahan and many others pacing up and down the sideline with playcharts in their hands calling plays and making adjustments every damn play every week.

Always wish we had something like that for a HC.

I've always said that at the half, the team says, hey Coach, they are running this play all the time. Maybe we should change it up to stop it. Coach says that is exactly what they expect us to do, so we will stay with the plan. And they get crushed. It is tiresome.

On the PFT radio show this am, Chris Simms was blasting Dan Quinn for not getting involved to fix his defense as a defensive head coach. Same guy was loving on Tomlin a couple weeks ago.

Exactly there is no mystery there is a clear trend. His deficiencies are there for everyone to see.

Either Rooney is looking the other way or flat out just doesn’t care.

But for the 98,99 percent of the fans we have seen enough.

I am taking the one posters approach Sunday and recording the game. Ol girl will let me know if I should watch it or hit delete.

We will never see anything better than what you are seeing now. Until the wordsmith takes leave.

Exactly! Tomlin was simply letting their plays work to lure them into a false sense of security. Then BOOM! spring the trap! Like taking candy from baby.

There are several issues keeping Tomlin another year.

1. Do you want a HC with potentially 1 year left picking and starting to develop a new QB?
2. If they go forward with Will Howard, do you trust Tomlin and Smith to develop him?
3. If they don't pick a QB/go with Howard and instead bring in a veteran, the team will once again go nowhere. Tomlin's philosophy isn't going to advance the team forward and will instead just try to get the team to .500.
4. Does ARII really want Tomlin to achieve the dubious record of 0 playoff wins in 10 years and 4 seasons with a playoff win in 20 seasons coached?

Now if this team goes on a 2005 run and advances to the AFCCG or SB then run it back.
