Stains sign Josh Rosen

I didn't even think Rosen was good in college. Part of it is that few people actually watch west coast games. Rosen would end up with great stats on paper. If you watched the game it was because he often played like **** for half the game, got behind by a bunch of points, then made a big comeback against prevent defenses.

Rosen is a great example of how the new rookie cap has freed teams from the bad QB pick. It wasn;t long ago that if you drafted a 1st round QB, he was likely going to be one of the highest paid guys on your team. Guys like Stafford and Sam Bradford I believe were the highest paid players in the NFL before ever taking a snap. You drafted a high first round QB and you were stuck with him for years.

Arizona deserves a lot of credit for recognizing their mistake immediately and moving on rather than doubling down on a bad decision just to save face. It was the rookie cap that allowed that.

^yup this

A early first round miss could set back an already bad team another 3-4 years just because the way contracts were back then

Was crazy a guy never having played a down being one of the only players on a team with a virtually guaranteed contract

glad they passed on signing McCarron, otherwise they'd have a real QB on roster.
