And how many times are you going to point out the same thing? Trying to set a record for redundancy? Obviously it was heralded as a tough schedule when it was announced in the offseason. The off season. Especially the second half, and the time in between games.
I’m quite sure you predicted the Bengals would fall this flat. While obviously you think Cleveland and Cincinnati will be walkovers because of their records,I certainly don’t. Division games, winter ball, bitter rivalry adds up to some tough **** coming up. We are always their team to beat. They would like nothing better then to be spoilers. And I am certainly not ready to say the Bengals are done yet.

The clowns actually have a qb who will sling that ball downfield and not care about int's. They'd better be ready for that.

Yep,any team in the division can and will beat us if they give them opportunities.

The biggest hype games the media will do, are the rats games,as if they're some juggernaut that's been kicking Pittsburghs *** 7 out of the last 8 games.

Having divisions is dumb when you could lose every divisional game and still win the "division". You could be 11-6, lose every single divisional game and if nobody else wins more than 10, you win the "division". Ignorant.

If I can remember correctly, Tomlin hasnt had a losing record iin the division sine 2009...

I have no idea why anyone would expect this team to finish under 500 there this year...

As for tge entire schedule, Tomlin has a pretty damn great record after the Bye week... he also does very well as an underdog, which we probably will be vs the Chiefs and Eagles...

Ill wager we finish with 11 or 12 wins.

The Bengals arent going to make up enough ground and Lamar's back and knee are already acting up... so they arent gonna keep pace if he goes down... their D sucks

"Winning the division" means a team ends up with the best record in the end.

You're referring to a team being called "division champs". You may have a point there, even though I don't think your scenario ever happened.

It works the other way as well; The Steelers had the best division record at 5-1 but were not the champs.

It would be amazing to get a bye and then a home game in the playoffs.

It happens quite often that a team has a losing record in a division yet wins the division. It's funny when someone says a game is more imporant because it's a divisional game. If you lose the division, it wasn't more important at all.

Yep....division games are usually always tough regardless of records.

Good lord. Are you actually going to argue that division games aren’t important on the chase to get into the playoffs? Many times there are 2 teams in your division making the playoffs. Divisional losses are like a 2 game swing.

Since you made the statement show us how often teams that lose the division, wins the division. I’m sure it’s happened….but quite often?
C’mon man.

Your fake outrage is quite cute. Putting words in my mouth to make an argument easier for you. Six year old kids do that stuff. This you below?? 🤡 :ROFLMAO:

a man in a striped shirt is standing next to another man in a blue shirt and yawning .

Yep I was just totally “ outraged”. lol. Can’t see what words I put in your mouth there.

Just calling out a ridiculous ,empty headed post. I'm sure you’re busy backing up your statement.

"You can have a losing record in the division and still win the division so calling it a "division is kind of a joke" morph's into "the division doesn't matter in the playoff race !!???:

two men are standing in a kitchen one is wearing a tie

I DO think it's a pretty damn tough schedule ahead.
None of the division games are gimme's, and we have 6 of them.
The Redskins, Eagles, and KC are tough. It will be tough to win ANY of those 3.
Of course we SHOULD sweep the clowns, but the 4 rats and benglas games are toss-ups, IMO.
I say, worst case, we split the division games and lose the others. That's 9-8, another Tomlinship. Some will be very happy with that. Great.
But go 4-2 or 5-1 in the division and win at least 1 of the other 3, I think that's a home playoff game. Very feasible.

can you point out the last several times this has happened? not trying to be a dick, just want to know

Sounds fair.

Time for a cold beer and a great dinner downtown. Friday of a bye week!

I’d be amazed if he could point out a handful of times it happened, or even a couple.

From a very brief bit of internet research I’m seeing 2-4 as the worst record (in the current 8 division format) of a division winner…not a super verified source but sounds about right. The Chiefs performed that once.

The 2010 Raiders went 6-0 in their division without winning their division, finishing 3rd at 8-8. And yes the Steelers throttled their ***** 35-3 that year!

Even going 1-5 it would indeed be very hard to win a division, hasn’t been done yet! Winless…unthinkable

Wins needed for Tomlinship: 2.5
Wins needed for playoff berth: 4
Wins needed for Division championship:5-6
Wins needed to break PO losing skid: 4 reg season + 1 PO win
Wins needed for SB: 6 reg season plus 3 PO Wins

the rest of this season will tell whether the standard is still substandard.....as it has been since before Peezy talked the Bungles out of a PO win.

You have to look at more than records especially when it comes to division games. Philly has a lot of weapons, Wash is playing at a high level, and of course KC is undefeated. The Browns have a real QB now and a solid D, the Bengals are pretty loaded w/ offensive talent, and the Ravens games are usually tough. There are 0 easy games on there. To think otherwise is just ignorant. The Ravens and Wash are in the top 5 for total TDs and the Bengals are 7th. We "should" beat the browns, but they have a solid D and if Winston gets hot it will sure make things interesting. I bet the Ravens thought they would beat the Browns as well....
