Steeler Players Liking Post of Pickett Getting Crushed

The team is simply dysfunctional from the top to the players. Tomlin / Canada are delusional / oblivious to what is going on. I hope he is saying different things behind closed doors but the fact we are not changing anything tells me he honestly thinks the offense is "fine" and is just a couple penalties from being good. The way things are going this team will be lucky to win another game and that is not an exaggeration. Watt coming back will help, but if the offense can't score then it will not matter. At least Pickett is trying and leaving it all out there. DJ seems like a head case and Pickens is getting pouty. Claypool and Warren seem to be giving effort at least. Najee just seems lost for various reasons. Defense seems to be alright effort wise except for Bush sometimes. Defensive guys have screwed up, but most have been great plays by the offense.

The culture of this football organization needs badly changed,
Tomlin has destroyed the once proud culture and now we’re just pretty much a team of individuals doing their own thing. No unity, togetherness, teamwork, just a bunch of me guys who are starting to point fingers.
You never saw **** like this pre Tomlin, never.
You have Tomlin’s pet Najee pointing fingers and this guy flat out should be on the bench.
Here’s some of the insanity of Tomlin. He makes Najee a captain and the guy is what 24 and has done nothing. This isn’t Alabama where it’s not to difficult for RBs to look better than they actually are.
Then you have the infamous Kendrick Greene who Tomlin inserts as a starting center his rookie year and to add insult he allows him to wear 53 Pounce’s number. Tomlin is ******* delusional! Greene ******* stinks and can’t even get a hat this year.

O boy. Have we become these soft people we complain about? Maybe it is just for fun, to rag on Pickett a little. Rag him about getting lit up. I remember once a teammate of mine got belted. We laughed at him, busted his *** over it. In film on Monday, the coach played it back a couple of times and we all had a good laugh. Of course this was many years ago when people weren't so sensitive.

Rag on him, but don't do it in a public forum.

The offensive team captains are Mitch Trubisky who is on the bench and Najee Harris who says he can’t block for himself. The offensive line didn’t even have guys help up Ben when he was getting sacked every other ply last year.

But that is where everything is now. It's the world these players, in fact all younger people for the most part, live in. I don't like it, but it is what it is.

A constant of Tomlin coached teams is they are very united when things are good and they crumble from within when things get tough. This ****** needs to be gone. Its that simple. And if the current Rooney ownership doesn't see that, sell the team to someone who really gives a **** please.

Cam Heyward's gotta be the most frustrated dude in that locker room. In years past, I'm certain the veterans in the room (Ben, Pouncey, DeCastro, Tuitt) along with Cam held the dysfunction to a minimum. Now, with all those guys gone, he's probably gotta feel like he's the only adult in the room, 'cause Tomlin sure doesn't seem to rule this roost.

But I was thinking this is a nothingburger as well, these players are friends w/each other and spend a lot of their time on their smartphones (like the 20-somethings in our own families). They "like" and "lol" each other's posts as a means of interacting w/each other. Probably not a direct poke at KP. But with that said, someone mentioned the AB locker room stupidity... yeah, the HC should've nipped that in the bud long ago and stuff like this would be frowned upon, if not restricted.

The Steelers today are a Carnival Cruise Ship (without a rudder, at that); circus acts, showy entertainment, no focus... but only to make money. Whereas the Steelers we know and love would be a battleship, an aircraft carrier, ready & prepared for war and no room for nonsense, every detail counts, and accountability across the board, from the captain to the squid who mops floors.

Our offensive line is offensive! that whole “need to study” was directed at them. That last game was a real contrast as to where the eagles are and where the Steelers are. The eagles coach comes from a Steeler family and it looks it. Eagles don’t have a lot of talent they are well coached and have a great game plan and they go out and acquires critical talent when need be. Non of those things apply to the Steelers. The eagles and Steelers have reversed themselves!!! we are now the hapless eagles! It will take the Rooney’s a decade or more to figure out Tomlin was fine as a caretaker but cant rebuild the Steelers. we are the sad sacks of the nfl now… the new now! Boooooo!

If true, and intended as a jab to Kenny..I would expect team leaders to address this internally.

Also if not resolved to the satisfaction of the team leaders. I would expect the Steelers to deal or release the three..
This is exactly why the Steelers can not trade Cameron Heyward as some on this board have suggested. If he's gone, there's zero leadership.

so Pickett says the team needs to know their plays and stop the mental mistakes.
the picture where he gets lit up is "liked" by his "teammates" on social media.

Najee says he can't open holes for himself.
nary a ******* peep

*******

I have absolutely zero issue with Kenny making the comments he did.
Let me refresh what he said.
“We all have to study more. Spend more time studying the playbook. Guys need to know what they’re doing”.
“We can’t keep doing the same things over and over and expect different results. That’s insanity”.
Now gentlemen, I don’t think any of you could disagree with what the rookie said.
Do I have a problem with a rookie making those statements? Hell no!
They put the ball in his hands, have him throwing 35-40 times a game, took 6 ******* sacks and 11 hits against the Eagles, so yeah, he has every right.
Think about that for a minute. Kenny got hit 18 times in Philly and a few were brutal hits.
There asking him to grow into this very quickly so he has every right to voice his concerns.
As for the stupid likes of Hargraves tweet! Sometimes players don’t think and do stupid ****. Don’t think it had anything to do with Kenny but it is a bad look.
This to me is the culture Tomlin has developed and nurtured here for years. Players don’t even give it a thought.Tomlin wants to be their friend and be one of the boys so these guys have no issue doing something this insensitive.
I feel bad for KP but he needs to be a disciplinary figure. I think Ben kept that locker room in check. He had the resume so he could command that type of respect. KP doesn't so I feel bad he has to try to be the guy to hold players accountable when his coach doesn't and has never. It is a very bad situation for a young QB and we handled this transition as poorly as one could. I really do hope KP can overcome. And if he can he will be a much better player and leader for doing so. But that is going to be a tough row to hoe.

Right. Only guys who can say anything at this point is Heyward, Watt, Fitzpatrick, and Freiermuth. Everyone else needs to take a long look in the mirror. I am really surprised at how Najee has played. I really thought he was a "safe" pick. Didn't think he'd be Derrick Henry but I definitely didn't see him being Trent Richardson.

It looks to me that they are giving props to Hargrave, and giving a good-natured ribbing to KP8.

Nothing to this story, IMO.

sounds like a bunch of jr high girls upset with instagram/socialmedia

I thought for years we all discussed how Ben wasn't a good leader, snuck out early, played video games, had his own room, etc. And now we're remembering him as a locker room presence?

Am I wrong?

I would Trade Johnson he’s not worth his contract at all. He’s soft and doesn’t come back to make any catches

Ben was always a leader in the locker room. KP is known as a leader as well. He will hold guys to account which is something Trubisky is not known for and has been criticized for. Ben was known for it as well. The leader of the team, the QB, needs to have that. If KP is pointing out mistakes, I have no issue with it but he needs to keep that in-house and not call anyone out specifically and I don't think he has. He also takes responsibility even when someone did the wrong thing or had the ball bounce off their hands (he has said he should have given them a better ball). Ben did the same. Marsha does it and most of the great QB's do it.

Doesn't take but one arm to bring DJ down. I just get this vibe he thinks he's all that and he isn't.

Claypool can be all that, he just hasn't taken that next step yet. Muth you can count on and Pickens is a special talent.

Where was Heyward's leadership when AB was here? We desperately needed some. Tomlin let a few do as they please and it hurt the team as a whole. Now all of a sudden Heyward is some great team leader who will put players in their place. SMH
