SteelerAl's no nonsense, non sucking football thread..

for ***** and giggles...? Because it could happen. I didn't say that I Wanted it to happen... Hard to pin down the 53 if they fluctuate on on the numbers kept at each position. If you see my final 53 projection in another thread.. I don't think they keep bey. I do pull for moye because he is the local kid.

I want Moye to do something, anything to cement a spot for himself, probably because of the "local" thing. But it's getting pretty hard to justify the guy's presence.

See any way we keep 6 wr's?

I do. Because that's something Tombert would do. But why? What benefit does keeping Heyward-Bay (who is on a one-year contract anyhow and will likely be a free agent again next year) have?

I would much rather keep the plethora of linebackers if it's a special teams decision. Zumwaldt, Carter, Howard, Spence... why let any of them go? To me, that's a position that the more time you spend on the team, in the meeting room with Butler and Lebaeu the better, right?

I would keep 9, maybe 10, linebackers right now because the 9th/10th best LB on this team is worth more than the 6th best receiver, the 4th best RB, the 4th best TE, the 10th best DB, the 7th best D-lineman and the 9th best O-Linemen. To me whoever that #9 LB is, is a better player and better prospect. And with Worilds not under contract next year and J. Jones still a pretty big question mark to his "starter makeup", I would keep as many options on the roster this season as possible.

But that's me. What the **** do I know. I'm sure the Steelers will keep 8, try to sneak two onto the practice squad and probably lose one. Probably won't matter in the long run (rarely does), but you never know...

I think Steeler fans somehow manage to under-appreciate Antonio Brown. The dude is the only player in NFL HISTORY with 1,000 yards returning and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season. And the only player in NFL HISTORY to catch at least 5 balls for at least 50 yards in all 16 games. That's some impressive **** he has accomplished to date.

AB is the "bomb", that's why I feel the front office made right decision on him & Wallace. Wallace who? Exactly!!!!

I think DHB is really going to have to show a lot to make the 53 man these last few weeks. Archer allows us to keep one less WR if we so choose and maybe keep an extra OL or DB. I read Moye is PS eligible so maybe if he can over take Moye he comes in as the 6th WR if we keep 6. But he is going to have to catch a few more big TD's to do that imho. Right now I feel this is how our WR core will look for 2014; A. Brown, Wheaton, Moore, J. Brown, and M. Bryant with Moye going to the PS.

good post, thank you

See any way we keep 6 wr's?

I do, if you count Archer as one of them. Just my 2-cents.

Salute the nation

IMHO there is no way J. Brown doesn't make this team unless he just blows during a pre-season game. He's caught almost every pass in practice and is running very good routes. He won't last on the PS once injuries start happening in the league.

I was watching Hard Knocks this week and Ryan told White that "no one ever really covers the slot, that is how Gonzalez got so many catches!" I immediatly thought of J Brown in the slot for us - maybe ahead of Moore because Brown is so much bigger.
