Steelers 2025 Full Schedule

Marvin Lewis did not have 16 straight non losing records...
True but he managed to channel the essence of Tomlinship-caliber performance by going 16 seasons without a playoff win while still performing well enought to keep his job and continue chasing Tomlinships. In 2 seasons, Tomlin will also likely have 16 seasons without a playoff win.

I think we surprise this year: defensive line will be 100 percent better which gives Wilson and Queen free roam inside both tackle and cover very well. In the secondary we have nice mix of young and old and some young guys like trice could really show through… on offense, the young line is 100 improved and with the one cut back running game the Iowa back will be in the running for ROY. I predict qb Rodgers bonds with undrafted wr Rok Taylor to give us the WCO type flanker for slants and short passes on 1st down we lack and then has metcalf for the deep throws and red zone stuff… we also have 2 emerging young TE’s that will help with the heavy lifting. We’re going to surprise… if Coach Tomlin is worth his salt this is the year he shows it… this is his ****** coaching staff, his players… he has his personal stamp on all of them… I’m going to give this team all the support I can and hope for the best! GOSTEELERS!!

I'd like a couple of whatever you're drinking in those rose colored glasses!!

Wow, an actual yinzer. I thought Clown-lin got rid of you all. Start with the DL: our best player is pushing 40, takes more plays off than he plays. Benton could be fairly good at DE but the rookie 1st-round pick is surgery-in-the-waiting. The rest are back ups and spare parts. Leal? Lee? Loudermilk? Lowry? Adams? Leal doesn't know if he's an OLB or DT yet? The OL is a mess. We still don't know who our LT is. Our OL coaching is non-existent. If we keep the Tomlinship going of no losing season, we will be very fortunate.

I appreciate your optimism but at best , we are going to do what we've been doing the last 8 years. When an organization stinks, it stinks from the head down. And we stink starting with Rooney and his 1990 ideas of football all the way down to having inadequate assistant coaches because Tomlin will never hire any offensive or Defensive coordinators that are good because that could threaten his job security.

You nailed reality on this, and it's just too bad that so many avoid it. Instead they fall for the platitudes and fancy quips by Clown-lin, it's just sad that Clown-lin offers them instead of just telling the reality of the situation: He refuses to hire competent coordinators because he fears for others doing a better job.

And when Rodgers, who is already mentally retired, makes it official and we have Rudy/Howard are we still kickin’ that ***?

Who is the 2nd emerging young TE?

Banking on an unsigned player, a UDFA, and basically the same LOS players (with our best another year older) and only 1 significant new addition to the LOS and all that optimism???

Definitely pass that loud bro

I have to admit, I had the same questions. Who is the 2nd TE? The UDFA? Who are all the awesome DL? Is 41 1/2 y/o Rogers the magic QB? When was the last playoff game he won? When was the last playoff game Tomlin won?

Great post stuntmanmike, love the optimism here !!!!!!

I have “Hope” in my corner, so I hope you are 100% correct in all indications.

It doesn't matter who our 2nd TE is. He won't be used properly.
Our 2nd TE will be sent into the mish mosh of bodies at the LOS to kind of bump into the mass of bodies and semi-block for a mis-directed rushing play that never develops, never solidifies into an actual play. It just mish mops into an undefined calamity of nothingness, where the RB just kind of gives up on the play, eventually, going for 2 yards. It's the Clown-lin way. They do this down 1 and 2 and down 3 in come the bubble screen pass, which goes for nothing or an incomplete pass, ending up with the team punting per usual. It's the Clown-lin way.

If Washington is the 2nd TE you’re referring to I’ve never seen him just “kind of bump” and “semi-block” Mount Washington brings it in the blocking game and is a people mover. You must be talking about some phantom 2nd TE???

How many times did you see Najee (even with his mid results) just “give up on a play”? I never saw that and Warren gives it all too. I’ll cut ya some slack cuz we all know you don’t watch the games anyway.

Even a guy like me that is pretty damn critical
Of Mike knows damn well he’s not telling TEs to “semi-block” or RBs to not effort.

Those are even more baseless than your normal accusations.

Do you know how many “bubble screens” were ran on 3rd down last year? You should provide a citation and you’ll find it’s way lower than your assumptions.

Yeah they did more run, run, pass and punt than any Steeler fan can stomach but that post was filled with extra stanky Cooch spew.

There’s a long list of things to bash Mikey on that have merit without coming up with that baseless garbage.

"Ooga booga goes the poo poo pants." You must not watch to many Steeler games as if you haven't witnessed or can't recall "the middle mess" that happened during Najee runs, you aren't paying attention. You think Washington makes "crisp definitive" blocks based on his size stats? It takes more than being large to make crisp blocks than what's on a stats measurement. Apparently, in your rush to cite physical measurement, you forgot to look at what's happening of the field. Big guy kind of "gets in that way," but that is a far cry from making decisive, crisp blocks that's taking players out of the play in any dominant manner. You end up with a bunch of players "milling about" not really creating any dominant blocks.

If he was, how do you explain Najee's subpar aypc #s? You can't. There is nothing crisp about Washington's blocking. Standing around doesn't count. For all Clown-lin's energy and focus he puts into run blocking, why doesn't he get any decent results? "Run, run, incomplete/too short of pass, punt." That's what you defend from this clown. Yea, "Mount Washington" really provides the pinnacle of blocking. Only in your scatter brained mind. "But he's 6-9,290 LBs, he must block players to the moon." Not.
