Steelers All-Pro S Minkah Fitzpatrick Responds to Madden NFL 22 Rating

Just weeks after ESPN conducted a poll on who NFL executives viewed as the “best” safety in the game, Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro defensive back, Minkah Fitzpatrick barely even cracked the top 10 in EA Sports’ latest version of the popular Madden NFL franchise video game.

“Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is the best in the NFL, according to ESPN.

In a poll conducted by ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers’ safety ranked as the best at his position. Fowler spoke with 60 executives, coaches, scouts and players to discover Fitzpatrick was the highest-viewed safety in the league.” – SI.com

Fitzpatrick played in and started all 16 games last season, had 74 total tackles, 11 passes defensed, 4 interceptions (1 for a TD), 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. He’s a 2x First-Team All-Pro, and a 2x Pro Bowler since being drafted in 2018 by the Miami Dolphins before being traded to the Steelers in 2019. Put some respect on my man’s name! But is only a video game and because I've played Madden since the first version came out - he should be surprised because it is VERY RARE to see a Pittsburgh Steeler with a respectable overall rating. AB was the last one and that was only after killing the league for 5 consecutive years.

The rating should be, IMO, 93.

I remember in the early years of madden. My brother was an Oakland fan so he always was the Raiders. He would run a FB dive for 10 yards with Fenner I believe. I could not stop it. He would tell me be was running it and boom. Ten yards. Other times he would throw passes to Tim Brown. Brown would jump and catch the ball out of bounds and my brother said he could just steer him with the controller back into bounds. I threw a couple of controllers at the TV back on the day. SMH.

I'm pretty good got an international ranking of 350 this year. We'll see if I can better that on the new version...

How do you do with the STEELERS ? I know this has been awhile ago but on Nintindo I was always the STEELERS in Club 98. SB every season and I had plays that always worked. I always went for a fake extra point converting to two point .... never missed.

I found a PS5 for a reasonable price back in March - the new Next Gen version of Madden is like no other and while it still has some glitches it can only get better since it's the first version of the game on the Next Gen platform.

I've learned over the years all the defensive formations so the game slows down for me so that I can go and 'just make plays'.

Never been one to rub victory in my opponents face or go for two just because...

I should have said I always played computer generated opponents. I don't rub victory either and I never ran scores up against LIVE opponents, spartsmanship is always a good thing regardless of whats riding on the game, especially a computer generated game.

BUT i sure as hell tought that computer generated team a lesson...................... LoL

Though no expert on gaming, I imagine safeties & corners are gonna get higher ratings with picks as those are splash plays and after all IT IS A GAME...So bling matters...INTs really matter in these type of games

The first half of the season Minkah was not getting splash plays...

But hell, if it pisses him off, I am totally cool with it...Minkah playes better when he feels cheated...
