My guess would be incentives… Witherspoon is a high ceiling guy who looks like a true playmaker… he gambles, and that’s good because it makes qbs think twice before throwing in his direction, even if he looks out of position or like the receiver is free.
Good cbs stay in position all the time, but many don’t actually make a lot of plays on the ball, so in crunch time teams force balls into coverage on them… playmakers teams don’t typically take risks with…
So if as a true starter Witherspoon shows he is top end and a playmaker, he probably wants better than average starter money
As for chuks, we have a new oline coach so no excuse for him not to severely reduce those penalties… especially in key times… if they are right about him third year starter he should make a big step ahead…
