I'm starting to think that and wr are gonna be 20 and 51.So now they can turn their attention to strong safety!
20 OR 51, can't see both and we still need to address the DL early unless Tuitt commits. Even if he does I'd really like more depth for Alualu other than just Adams.I'm starting to

Good point. New set of eyes and all that.20 OR 51, can't see both and we still need to address the DL early unless Tuitt commits. Even if he does I'd really like more depth for Alualu other than just Adams.
And as Slash mentioned, resign Edmonds or another strong safety or we're looking there in the draft also.
Regarding the topic, glad they resigned Witherspoon but I wouldn't mind a CB in round one. Flores input might point them in the right direction finally.
Kevin never had the cap space when he had Ben’s large cap hit to deal with every year. Not that Ben wasn’t worth it but that’s the price teams pay when they have to pay for franchise QBs. Cincy and Baltimore will soon find out.Colbert is having one hell of a last season so far. Obvious needs right now are safety and WR. Then I would love for them to bring in maybe another OT in the fold.

Cannot agree with you here. Ben's cap hits over the years like any franchise QB will limit what a team can do. In past years we were not in the position of having nearly 30 million in cap space to even entertain quality free agents. Not Ben's fault, its just the way it was. I mean you can put any spin on it you want, but they have money to spend and so far have spent it wisely not overpaying for any player, not even Chucks. They can get out of his deal after next season reasonably cheap if they so desire and even Trubisky contract is heavily laden with incentives that if he meets, that's a great thing for him and the team. All these signing even Myles Jacks at two years 16 million are very reasonable deals. You don't see any of those 5 and six year mega million dollar deals which usually come back to bite you. I'm fine with everything they've done so far. This is just simply not a true narrative
The Steelers didn’t operate this way because of dan Rooneys philosophies for a long time
These were built on his experience when his dad ran the team and let coaches trade for vet players constantly… Dan said that they were taking on guys other teams were willing to part with implying they were flawed.
With the advent of free agency the Steelers kept that philosophy in rarely chasing high priced or big name free agents and instead drafting and developing guys internally and paying them extension money that most teams would use in free agency
This has zero to do with Ben and more to do with the staff failing to develop young worthwhile players at a slew of positions
Seriously the biggest contract we've handed out is still for our own guy ( chuks)
And most everyone else is a guy whose had nfl success but is coming off of a down year signing a two year discount prove it type deal
…. Trabisky wasn’t a starter last year… Jack had his worse season as a pro, the olinemen each had years that weren’t their best…
This is an extremely Steelers Way type of ufa just not as obvious because there were so many holes from aged out players and just staff incompetence over the past few years
This isnt much different than when the Steelers rebuilt the D years back with low key but high potential guys like Alualu and bringing in bigger pieces like Haden and ultimately breaking Steelers tradition and trading a first for Fitzpatrick
That's not true, James Daniels had his best season as a pro, and Mason Cole also established himself at C where he also had his best season after moving around at multiple positions.…. Trabisky wasn’t a starter last year… Jack had his worse season as a pro, the olinemen each had years that weren’t their best…
Cole didn’t even start a game for half the season… he looked like a backup olineman for them before their C went out with covid, then he went in and played 7 strong games… I wouldn’t call that a great season…That's not true, James Daniels had his best season as a pro, and Mason Cole also established himself at C where he also had his best season after moving around at multiple positions.
But once Cole was settled as a C he showed himself as a possible starter, I wasn't necessarily saying Cole is some awesome starter, he's a possible starter that would make an excellent backup swing IOL if he doesn't win a starting job. As for Daniels, referencing an injury from 2020 doesn't negate his great season in 21, he's been on a bad team and he's only 24 soon to be 25, he was one of the top OL on the market coming off his best season, regardless of his previous injuryCole didn’t even start a game for half the season… he looked like a backup olineman for them before their C went out with covid, then he went in and played 7 strong games… I wouldn’t call that a great season…
And Daniels tore his pectoral muscle in 2020 and didn’t exactly tear it up early for the bears… which is probably why we got both of these players for less than expected value
Im not even remotely saying they are bad players…they are not, but its the Steelers way to get value and especially young value in ufa… niether of these guys are going to make a top 3 available guy at a position list… but both may be answers on the line that could be extended …
People are acting like the Steelers haven’t targeted these kinds of guys in the past… they absolutely have when
A. They have a need that doesn’t have a ypung guy waiting to take over
And
B. a younger guy who isnt absurdly overpriced is available
So like bringing in James farrior, for the best example.. or the failed attempt to fix the safety position by chasing mike Mitchell
If anything their moves this year shows how desperate they are because again, this staff has not been great at gettbackups that are future starter material… tomlin overloads on special team bums and the staff isn’t a developmental staff..
I knew I liked you for a reason!!! Williams at 1.20 and any WR from tOSU at 51...I'm starting to
I'm starting to think that and wr are gonna be 20 and 51.
Somehow you refuse to accept simple facts regarding that narrative. Ben Roethlisberger has the third largest career earnings of any player in the history of the NFL: $267.3 million, behind only Tom Brady and Drew Brees. There's only 7 others above $200 million, all quarterbacks (listed here with Super Bowl wins): Matt Ryan (0), Aaron Rodgers (1), Eli Manning (2), Peyton Manning (2), Philip Rivers (0), and Matthew Stafford (1). Brees won one title, and of course Brady has 7 rings. So Ben has produced well enough on the surface, but not really, when you consider that he won his championships early in his career, before the bigger contracts started coming. This is just simply not a true narrative
I don't know how many times I have to explain this to you Berm. Williams IS a WR from tOSU. Bama just rented him for a season since he wasn't going to get any playing time up North.I knew I liked you for a reason!!! Williams at 1.20 and any WR from tOSU at 51...
They really need to address the DL. I'd move up a few to get him by giving away a 3rd round pick next year. I still think that big clog in the middle is the key to this D being great again. We draft Jordan Davis we will have a d as good as the 2000 rats d in runnable sci-fi you go 4-3 you can put bush at mlb jack at weak side tj leave highsmith to re
