Steelers are doing some spoon-ing to the tune of a two year contract.

EXCELLENT POST, thank you for your acurate input.

Many want to blame BEN for everything including things out of his control. BEN's overall career and contracts didn't hinder the team nearly as much as people want to blame him for. Mostly he was a QB who played way above the line making fair market value who was willing to restructure to help the team his entire career.

Then near the end of his career many wanted him to play for free, giving up money that was pushed ahead in favor of helping the team with cap space. Not a single one crying would be willing to work 12 weeks of their work year for free, think about that.

Just compare cheater bradys “ discount “ contracts with the pats that supposedly allowed them to win sooo many super bowls and then look at ben’s the same year… tgere was a couple million difference most years, maybe enough to get one more starter in or something… not significant though…

Brady is on record saying how his wife made more money than him and that "he wasn't stupid" in regards to taking less salary. He knew the game, and unlike most, was able to exploit it because he had substantial income coming in from his wife and other avenues.

BUT you have to remember the cheatriots were funneling money to t*mmyb*y through his sports therapy complex. All team therapeutic (massages ect.) were done through his complex he owned. An under handed way of lowering his "cap" hit salary by paying bloated pricing care.

People just want to blame ben… if you look at percentage of cap space his money isn’t really different than most star players that virtually every team has… the 49rs the year Jimmy G led the entire league in total cap hit were extremely active in free agency… its just a hate narrative.., the reality is that the only thing different this year from most os that the steelers had more needs and fewer in house options than usual, and they still only did bargin contracts

Totally agree madinsomniac, the BEN haters gunnA hate. Part of what attracts me to my beloved STEELERS is the way they have done business over the years. Obviously with new Rooney will be a little change and part of that is not firing anyone but letting their contracts expire. I realize that is not brand new but Art 2 has taken it to a little more extreme.

All and ALL i am true blue and tried always as a STEELERS fanatic.

Not blaming Ben for anything, guy. Relax. Pointed out that Ben made a shitload of money the last ten years of his career, which is a stone cold fact.

And please, spare me the "Ben worked for free" bullshit. You're embarrassing yourself.

Again, not blaming Ben, don't hate Ben, etc. But having to pay a franchise quarterback plays a part in limiting other costly acquisitions -- not sure what is so hard for you two guys to comprehend about that.

2018 is the year you're talking about with the 49ers? Yeah, they overpaid Jimmy G, brought in an aging Richard Sherman, Jerrick McKinnon, and a bunch of nobodies, and finished 4-12. Great example.
