Steelers-Bengals game thread #RunThroughTheJungle

Ben still gives them the best chance to win but with this D, we have no chance unless things go perfect for the O. They have to score early and often to even have a chance in any game where the opposing team has any semblance of a running and passing game. We can't stop one, let alone both.

My bad. I thought you said that you didn't know that Ben was supposed to be stopping Joe Mixon. And by saying so, you brought Ben into the conversation. If you didn't say that, my most sincere apologies. If you did say it ... well, there's your explanation.
I was responding to some clown who brought Ben into a run defense conversation.

The thing that really sucks is this Bengals team is young. they will be around for awhile

I would bench Ben for the rest of this game, maybe the season. They aren't coming back today and aren't making the playoffs. Play Rudolph, Haskins, some bum off the street. At this point, does it even matter?
The time for that would have been 2019.

Right? Instead they’re probably going to try and run Najee til he tears an acl.

I didn't even mention Tomlin in the post. It is entirely about the personnel.
I’ll blame Tomlin. Someone answer me this, why has any head coach ever been fired then? Some here blame everyone but the guy in charge of this **** show. So to them he deserves no credit for his Super Bowl win either. He wasn’t blocking tackling and the o and d coordinators called the game. Why have a head coach? Again repeat Tomlin owns all of this.

This is not true at all… the offense is a problem because the interior line gets no leverage and the center is getting blown up by power rushes, the lt cant handle speed rushes, tgey have one wr who can run correct routes..

You cant put the qb under center or run up the middle because of the line issue… the wes dont get separation…nobody fears us deep down the middle, because that takes the most time to set up and we don’t get it so the defense covers the short middle and sidelines and shuts us down because we aren’t going to have time and our run game is all outside
and there you have it. This is spot on. It all starts with the OL and it starts with the DL on defense. Except for TJ and sometimes Heyward, we get no pass rush. We let Ingram whine his way out of PIT so we have no depth at edge rushing. They double TJ and Highsmith doesnt seem to be able to get to the QB a lot. The Dline gets gashed by merely decent OLs and the opposing RBs have a field day because little bitty Bush and the rest of the LBs cant get off blocks and plug holes. If we sell out to stop the run, we get gashed in the defensive secondary.

We play zone and EVERYONE finds the seams in the zone and they make plays. DET, CIN, LAC--matters not. They all do it and when we do actually get good coverage, we usually face a QB like Herbert who is mobile and he runs for almost 100 yards from scrimmage. Tuitt and Alualu would defintely make a difference, but there are so many problems with this roster, there isnt just one quick fix.

Unfortunately they tried to put the band back together for one last championship run with Ben. Drafted a RB in the first round and a bunch of OL late. The O Linemen will likely never amount to anything and Najee will be long gone by the time we are rebuilt. A completely wasted draft.
Thats a cynical take… Muuth is a long term starter… I disagree with taking any rb in the first ever, but we will get 5 years out of Harris at worse, which is ample time to rebuild … both the third and fourth round linemen could be really good… it can take a couple years to get a lineman ready… eother could turn out great… its not often thst rookie linemen are ready to rock straight out of the box

Didn't see that. Just saw your response and responded to that. Then you got mad and started demanding "explanations" and all that. It is what it is.

So Tomlin just admitted that the season was lost when Alualu went down and Tuit stayed out.

We play Tomlins cover two/ tampas zones that are staler than last months bread…

I think Ben needs pulled. Not that Rudy is a miracle maker but, he’s going to get killed out there

absolutely. And we cannot blame Keith Butler. I dont think he is much of a DC, but he is NOT in charge. This is Tomlin's D lock stock and barrel. They do what he says when he says to do it. And they get gashed quite often lately. Dropped from #11 overall D to 23rd?? Plummeting.

I'm not gonna blame the officials for the score of this game But DAMN can they be any worse.
