Steelers current roster and practice squad

it was a stupid idea, I don't care if he's back. Tell me if anyone would've taken Nix or Hubbard?, hell, just cut landry and resign him if needed later (not!). No one will snatch him .

This^^^spoken for truth!

All the restructures and cap scrambling makes me think the team is 'setting up' for some post-game 1 veteran signings...at least i hope that is the case. Lots of teams do this to avoid guaranteed salaries for vested vets. I believe a vet signing following game 1 only guarantees 25% of the salary paid up to 6 games when they are again guaranteed full salary.

Guys the team could/should be looking at:

Stevie Brown - S (was a better than most S before ACL injury, still might not be 100% which would explain his release right before the season) Still probably better than most of ours.
Jason Babin - OLB- played both 4-3 and 3-4 on the outside as well as inside in sub-packages (could immediately replace Moats on the Left side allowing him to go back to ROLB to rotate w Deebo- Jones will be out due to injury or poor play soon enough,IMO)
Kenrick Ellis - NT ( better than either of our NTs, IMO and a certified run-stuffer)
Matt Shaughnessy - DE/3-4/4-3 - (could be a great sub-package DE when we go w only 4 rushers)

I don't expect moves like this from Tombert BUT I hope that they will see that playing the best players now gives us the best chance to win now. If we are going to truly run this cover 2, we need players who have helped teams who employed a similar defense, IMO.

Listening to Philly radio, when Babin was with the Eagles they couldn't run his *** out of town fast enough. Major *******. THe other guys I know next to nothing about.

I know I'm a Bama homer, but I have a glimmer of hope for this guy. Would love to see Barrett Jones crack the the 53 man roster.

You know I just let out a shout of joy!!!
if i rememer, some of us wanted to draft this dude.
not that we draft worth a ****, but ...
I was on that list - if Barrett Jones is healthy, the kid will DEFINITELY improve our OL. Write it down.

oh you care

Why do people seem to think every steelers scrub is a personal golden egg

We got Cody Wallace from other teams practice squads - we should be scouring the waiver wires for other teams' talent - nobody wants our picks anymore,

ok but compare a prospect like Grant versus a Hubbard or Nix? Who has the bigger chance of getting picked on the waiver wire? if we lost Grant for a decent DE or OL to be kept I wouldn't ***** about it, but for those two? no way I'd be ok with that

Nix has potential. I like his size. Sure he may not be as atheletic Johnson. And the fullback position is a dying breed. But in this offense he can be used as an extra blocker for Ben/Leveon. Not to mention the thought of him maybe being a bruiser in the red zone. Not giving up on him just yet

Reality is between week three and five two will come back onto the roster and two will leave.

One I am guessing will be a certain hybrid WR, the other could very well be Nix, if another newly acquired RB shows anything..

Absolutely true Diver, the Philly fans are the worst in the league. They hate every player/coach who leaves Philly and some like Babin who actually had the balls to call the fans out on twitter for shouting "vile" and "offensive" language at the team after a game. He lectured them on loyalty as well. There is an article on Bleacher Report where they attack (in no particular order), Desean Jackson, Vick, Reid, Morningweg, Bobby April, Mudd, Washburn, Trent Cole, Nnamdi Asomugha, Kurt Coleman, Mychal Kendricks, Todd Bowles and Babin. Babin is the only one to call the fans out on their disloyalty. I like that kind of *******. Kinda reminds me of Porter. We NEED more ******** like this,IMO.

As for his play, he is strictly and edge rusher and would be effective from either side in this regard. He won't be a great run-stopper but right now Deebo is our only good one. Sign him for a year, let Deebo play w Moats on the right. Get Dupree up to speed and let him take over when he's ready. Moats is already better than Jones on the right,IMO...as is Deebo. Hopefully next year we draft a replacement for the right side and let Moats man the spot til he's ready. Jones, IMO, will never be ready.

Toussaint to the dark side.

A dark horse candidate to make the Ravens 53 man roster, or a possibility at the practice squad for Baltimore has not happened for the undrafted runningback, Fitzgerald Toussaint. The former starting Michigan Wolverine tailback has officially signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad. Now is this because he is one of the better backs in the league for the practice squad, or because Toussaint has knowledge of the playbook, and can emulate the styles of former teammates Justin Forsett & Lorenzo Taliaferro?

In truth it's mainly due to Fitzgerald being a decent tailback whom can play many practice squad reps, and help the team he's playing for. If they were truly after scouting playbooks this way every team would take a cut player from the other divisional opponents and exploit them. Maybe a question or two may arise but nothing more.

A good practice squad member for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Fitz was able to be almost a dual threat back both receiving and rushing.

Honestly, I take Holliman over Dangerfield. I'd like to see what he can do after a year of tackling drills, and I think he has more upside. No disrespect, but I think we know what we have in Dangerfield.

The man has no knees

Former Texans NT Louis Nix failed his physical with the Giants and is a free agent.

We were talking about Roosevelt nix, the fullback that earned a spot on the roster
