Steelers-dolts game thread - #When3RiversMeetsA4th

Should sit everybody next week. Can't get the bye and home field means nothing this year so seeding not that important. I think they are locked into 3rd seed at worst. 2nd or 3rd seed means almost nothing this year. Rest up

I told you not to panic...

I freely admit that I was panicking and then I was just about resigned to the fact that we would finish 11-6. But then a funny thing happened on the way to the end of the game and Ben said "F that, we are going down swinging" and he and his offense pulled it out. Honestly I really didnt think today was the day. We just looked so horrible in the first half

I do not like the idea of sitting the offense for two weeks after they finally found their rhythm.

I hope the starters play at least a half next week.

I don't think they are doing much in practice anyway. Better to let them rest a week then have a tougher week of practice before the playoff game

thats the only thing I fear and someone rolling up on Ben's leg or ankle. Maybe play Ben for a half to try and keep the new found rhythm then let Mason reunite with Myles Garrett in the 2nd half.

I don't either, but we are already really think at Oline, and Ben is 38

Colts fans are bitching like hell about the officiating.

Shoot, if the game was even halfway decently officiated, they would have been called for a dozen holds on Watt alone.
I also notice that for a guy who isn't a "name", the Colts plan for Highsmith in the second half was "hold him for dear life"

Yeah, for all of the missed holding calls that resulted in big plays for the Colts they can keep quiet.

absolutely no doubt. They can suck it. Their guys were grabbing PIT receivers' jerseys . Grabbed a handful of Ebron's jersey that prevented a TD. They were damned near tackling TJ on every play. They can just shut up and concentrate on next week. No way refs engineered some kind of PIT victory by calling or not calling bogus holding.

The only play where I thought IND might have gotten screwed was the PI that called when Diontae was targeted by Ben and Rivers was arguing with the refs. I could see the possibility of the ball being tipped before it got to Diontae and PI would be taken off the table. But they did not pick the flag up and we will take it. Lord knows we have been on the wrong side of the refs for years especially when playing Tom Terrrific and NE. My conscience is clear. We got called for PIs too especially on the last drive and it was a good call.

and how about that spin move by Highsmith on the last IND play where RIvers overthrew his receiver on 4th down? Highsmith is getting better. He is not Bud or TJ--at least not yet, but he has the pedigree coming out of Florida. He has been forced to get reps and he is getting better. He might not have gotten a sack but that was a beautiful spin move to force The Whiner to throw it early and too high.

I know all teams have injuries but how many have lost the quality LBs that PIT has? Devin Bush, Bud Dupree, Spillane and I thought there was a 4th one. Avery Williamson is not bad but it takes time to get accustomed to another team's system. Folks have to keep that in mind when judging the D. And all the time they have to play when Ben & Co is sucking like they did in the first half.

It seemed like the OLine started to protect Ben better and he could let a play develop and step into his throw in the 2nd half.

Highsmith is actually from North Carolina and went to college at Charlotte.

yeah..,the chili is why the Steelers won....not the PI calls

You know its all about the mojo. Damn glad they found it tucked behind the towel bin at halftime. Frickin illusive *******. Hey we are undefeated at 1:00 PM on Sundays...Keep that in mind.. ;)

Not taking anything away from the offense but what were the D stats in that second half? It was a team win in my opinion.

Defense shut them out in the 2nd half.. that says a lot. Colts stopped running the ball which helped too.

I wish we could run the ball better, but we live and die with Ben.
