The Pittsburgh Steelers signed safety Karl Joseph to their practice squad today, but that might just be a formality.

Pittsburgh Post Gazette writer Gerry Dulac tweeted out tonight that he expects the Steelers to promote him after he goes through the 5 day COVID process.

The Steelers expected to bring newly added S Karl Joseph off the practice squad once six-day Covid-19 protocol for new players expires. Couple that with the return of Arthur Maulet and they are up to 10 DBs. And they still might add another from the waiver wire.

Like Dulac says, it’s likely the Steelers could still add another defensive back that was recently released. Regardless we should expect Joseph to see time against the Buffalo Bills on September 12.

So how soon till he is anointed as the best S that isn’t being given a shot?

Don’t forget that this year 2 guys can be promoted to the active roster straight from the PS. Without having to have any extra space so in all reality the rosters are 55….

I would think this is the exact plan. Clear the pandemic and "POOF" he is on the roster, what kind of contract will he get.......$$$money$$$ wise ?
