Hard to say if Ilb is on their radar or not... since the combine is broken into segments and this is the DL/Edge/Lb section, they met with a few of each... some formally and some informally
Another site has the count at 6 DL, 8 edge and 7 Ilbs... with 4 formal ilb meetings
🤔

I will accept this as a possible.

With Holcomb facing extensive rehab, I would say ILB is definitely on the radar.

Agreed.

Here is my first choice.

What round are people saying Trotter will be drafted?

From what I've read, Grey and Cooper have the speed needed to cover. Trotter is more of a thumper-type ILB.
Out of thoise 3 players--
I would say Cooper is the more ready - 3 down guy.

However, as mentioned my hope is that we acquire Payton Wilson ILB NCST in the draft....He is my highest rated ILB this year.

Generally in round 2 from some mocks I've seen. But, the Combine will ultimately decide his fate.

I heard late 1 too. I think that was on Good morning football if I remember correctly...

I like Colson from Michigan day two. Good against the pass and good size. The thing that always comes to mind (mine anyway) is the age of some of these guys, I like Wilson but he'll turn 24 before the draft, Colson just turned 21 and for the most part is playing against guys his age or older. He has allot of room to grow, high ceiling where as Wilson is a grown man, what you see is what your going to get. He's a good ILB when healthy and if they were to grab him day two you won't hear me bitchn but I prefer Colson and in case you forgot, look at the last lb we took from Mich.....

Yes
But if we can get two contracts of pro bowl level play out of him … I’ll take it!

IMO---Trotter's is somewhat overly hyped due to his surname...
I remember one time I said something similar about a guy with the last name Watt…I touted he’d be good not great, more of a 2nd-3rd round talent…boy am I glad how wrong I was!!!

Not saying your assessment is off base by any means, I haven’t seen too many of his games tbh

Just made me think back to what a dumbass I was with the Watt assessment, love when a player proves me wrong…

Come on Kenny- I said your ceiling was mid a true QB2 in the making, please please please make me eat crow

I love eating some bacon wrapped crow

Yeah I was one of Watt's biggest pimpers.

Not going to go down that yellow brick road with Trotter Jr.

I will say I don't think he will bust out. I just don't think he will star either. I think you will get a good player. Which is ok if that is all you are expecting. For our 1st or 2nd rounder I hope for more than that.

I know this take won't be popular with some but I wouldn't touch ILBer until round 3.

Did I say 3? Ok round 2. That is better vs talent at the position.

Speaking of ILBer

Payton Wilson, ILB, N.C. State
Height 6-4. Weight: 234.
Projected 40 Time: 4.74.

Scratch that 4.7 projection from a site...he just ran a 4.4.

WOW

Trotter looked smooth in his backpedal. In some drills I am watching...
