Steelers hiring McCarthy

feels like mediocrity.

Mediocre Mike.

No need to change the signs.

Maybe all the old fart season ticket holders will love this guy......and not start "Retire Rooney" chants next season.

We will understand more if he signs a short 3 year deal or a longer term one.

I hope the intention is to coach up QBs, oversee a complete rebuild on O, and find a competent DC to unfuckup the D.

It could lead to decent foundational shift for the team, but I'd be much more comfortable with this Mike helping the next HC.

Mark it down this team will hover around the same bullshit while that man is here.

Might still be bullshit, but it sure as hell won't be the same bullshit.

The offense will look completely different, for one.

Specifically, the days of the middle of the field being treated like a biohazard site in the passing game should be history.

McCarthy wasn't my first choice at all, but I still see potential for an upgrade from what Tomlin had been producing in recent years, even if there is a year of roster and scheme transition in 2026.

And you think that will do what for the team?

What I think is irrelevant. At this point I hope it all works out. A change to our offense will happen now. And defense. After watching the last 6 or 7 plus years of how this team was ran I am for any type of change. So I will give McCarthy a chance moving forward. Not like I have a choice anyway.

Ahhhh.....go Mike!!!!!

If you never referred to Tomlin as a DEI hire or totally disrespected him at his leaving then my comment doesnt apply to you, but if you did dont act like this isnt worst case scenario and a middle finger moment.
Tomlin was a DEI hire. Look at his playoff record you clown. PS, he ran that franchise so far into the ground that nobody wanted the job. You are talking like we would be better off if Tomlin was still here........you're delusional and a Steelers 2nd, coach 1st moron.

Oh I look forward to the contract. It is going to be icing on the **** cake.

Fanbases are going to continue laughing at the club and they have a right to..

Anyone is an upgrade over Tomlin. Doesn’t mean this is a good hire.

I am not interested in talking about skin color. Take that **** elsewhere. We are onto the next chapter no need to rehash old conversations.

Is he a Bengals or Browns fan?
He is most definitely a Steelers fan. He tried calling me as soon as the news broke. I was eating breakfast in Las Vegas. Couldn’t talk. But he blew up my phone with texts.

Was he hired cause he is a Pittsburgh guy? Can not think of any other reason.
Yep.....the dreaded Pittsburgh connection strikes again.

Stupid azz boy going to the playoffs repeatedly or at least being relevant is not running the team into the ground no matter how much you want to minimize it you dumb azz cuck. No the team wouldnt have been any better with Mike T but my guess is that they wouldnt have been worse either which you can thoroughly expect now unless he hires a ALL STAR coaching staff.

I'm confident the Steelers hired McCarthy for two reasons: (1) He has potential to keep the Steelers in their sweet spot (8-10 wins) and (2) they truly believe in his ability to develop a QB. I think they'll draft a QB higher than many of us think this season.

PS, DEI has nothing to do with skin color. It means hiring someone that is not qualified. My 1st choice for our new coach was Marcus Freeman so riddle me that with your racist accusations you POS.

Good solid hire. Exactly what this team needs..
Experienced head coaching leadership and a Yinzer to boot !

ESpecially, on the offensive side of the ball McCarthy is a very, very good offensive minded coach an a developer of the young quarterbacks.
He's also a proven leader of men, he commands the locker room, and old guy's rule!!! 😁
ESpecially, old guys from Pittsburgh !
