By: Morgan Urtso, @morganurtso SteelerNation.com   Cap space? Never heard of her. And neither have the Pittsburgh Steelers. The upcoming off-season will be no different, as head coach Mike Tomlin and GM Kevin Colbert can’t seem to shake the stage-5 clinger that is the now $180 million NFL salary cap. Along with it comes a […]

So where do you put the numbers $$$ for JuJu at? Just saying to sign him isn't much. Why don't we just sign all of our FAs then.

I'd like to keep him more than my disdaine for his immaturity. He will grow up and be less selfish and learn. His brand isn't where the big $$$ is at as that would be endorsements. Chase found that out early and is way better off for that.

Definately keep him and try to find a way to pay / keep but also know I'm very curious as to how the team will manage that.

Diggs didn't catch 10 more passes than JuJu. Diggs caught 30 more passes (127) and had 704 more yards receiving (1535 -- nearly double Smith-Schuster's production), and led the league in both of those categories.

The author should at least get his facts straight while professing his undying love for JuJu.

Fixed. Stat errors happen. And it's a she.

i dont know WHY anybody is in love with the Ju.

he's just no where close to a superstar level WR. Pedestrian some might say.
1. he's GOT to be able to catch the damn ball in traffic and in crunchtime situations &
2. he's GOT to be able to hang onto the damn ball.

JuJu has just totally ****** up at the worst times and its cost the Steelers multiple games. Addition by subtraction, plain and simple.

I would love for the Steelers to keep JuJu. He does catch the tough trafffic catches. I just think he will be priced out of our range. I wish he never did his tiktoc **** here but it is what it is/was.

If we can afford to keep him, keep him. As I said before, he is tough as nails and plays alot like Hines did. He fits the Steeler mold through and through. The tough thing will be when Diontae and Chase come due. You won't be able to pay all 3. You at least try to get JuJu signed if at all possible and reasonable.

He will sign elsewhere for more money. He’s not as loyal as he wants his fans to believe

LOL....What player is? Ben has always gotten paid. Pouncey also. In fact, the last player I can think of to take a drastic pay cut to stick around was the Bus. And his role was reduced greatly. Yep, the loyal player is a figment of one's imagination. As the same as the loyal Team. It is a business. Plain and simple.

The Steelers have done a poor job using JuJu to his strengths over the past two years. He'll put up monster numbers if he can go to a team where he can be a No. 2 receiver and will still be very good as a No. 1 on a team with numerous offensive options. However, they didn't spend a second on Claypool last year with the intention of signing JuJu to a long-term deal. The priority needs to be finding a way to bring back Sutton and Hilton. I also know it's not happening, but if we had the cap space Dupree would be far and away my No. 1 priority.

Small "stat errors" can happen, true. Large stat errors, however, can defeat one's own argument.

I thought it was rather peculiar how (or why) the author chose to refer to cap space as "her" and the salary cap as "she." Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Chances of Smith-Schuster being a Steelers receiver next season: Slim to none. This team doesn't let players they really want get to UFA. He will get a big contract, the Steelers made too many bad business decisions and cannot afford him

He can dance his way out. Get a big contract please

I want the max 4 comp picks. The re-load in 2022 will be great. All we need to do pick winners like Wallace or Lewis. No Archers please.

Until the final cap number is in place and the fact if BEN ROETHLISBERGER is to return, JuJu is just speculation. More pieces of the puzzle need put together before any legitamite offer / plan can be made.

Should he NOT get an offer and accept, like Burgundy says, we have WR depth.

We even offered Bell more than he ended up taking with the Jets.

someone is going to give Juju 15+per season, if not more, he knows that, and he knows we can't pay that, especially with the cap this year.

Tell Juju it's only business. I always liked him.

A... we probably cannot afford him
B.... we won't prioritize him because we have Washington clamoring to climb the depth chart
C.... lost in the Fitchner “offense” is Juju is a hell of a blocker... that’s something we likely wont get out of claypool or Johnson
D. He really was unselfish on the field... he played slot in a ufa season... his off field personality was inconsequential... he is a good guy and good player
