Steelers Nation Unite

I applied to be a part of the Advisory Committee and think it's a great idea. On another note, the Steelers called me today and told me that I can to be one of the holders for the giant Terrible Towel on Sunday night. I cannot tell you how pumped I am for this opportunity!

Wife and I did that for the Tampa game and had a blast! We were perfectly positioned on the 50 yard line and the logo. It was pretty surreal. Have fun!

I applied for the for the STH advisory group, too. Wifey talked me into it. :-)

That is AWESOME !!

L.C. Greenwood should be in the hall of fame.

I can only imagine. I've done something similar with the Hail to Pitt flag, but this will be on a whole other level.

90% of the maroons on this site didn't even know who Hollywood Bags was, so STFU with your BS.

Since we are dealing with the trivial here, what team was known as the maroons, did they ever have a championship taken from them, and if so to who was it awarded. I will come back tomorrow and post the answers if you do not find them for yourselves.

The Pottsville Maroons were an American football team based in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1920, they played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1925 to 1928. In 1929 they relocated to Boston, where they played one season as the Boston Bulldogs.

1925 NFL Championship controversy

Before the season ended, however, the Maroons were suspended by NFL commissioner Joseph Carr, thus denying them the championship title. This has been the subject of controversy ever since. "The Pottsville Maroons were the most ferocious and most respected players I have ever faced. "You know, I always believed the Maroons won the NFL championship in 1925 ... but were robbed of the honor."
—Red Grange, Pro Football Hall of Famer with the New York Yankees (NFL) and the Chicago Bears in 1954[5]

The Chicago Cardinals were given the title after Pottsville was suspended.

If you'll permit a little shameless bragging. If I can't share with Steeler Nation, who can I share? :-) Certainly not the greatest video. Even though you weren't "supposed" to take any pics or video, there's no way you're not gonna take a quick sneak peek with your cellphone. :-)

Steel chip has found the info and it was not in the bags of hollywood.

Yeah but the actual waiting list is about 20 years and it isn't going down any time soon.
There are always tickets for Steeler games available if you want them and want to pay through the teeth for them.
NFL ticket exchange has nosebleeds for $89.00 in the 500 sections and $1,500- $1,800.00 seats in the privates and clubs. Depends on how big your wallet is I guess. Sections on the Steelers side of the field in an equal level are slightly higher than the visitors. But there are seats.

Oh, I know. I get 'em off StubHub or Ticket Exchange like I did last week. I tend to pick less desirable games due to opponents or time because they're cheaper although I picked a great game to go to last week. $96 each for me and the wife, peanut heaven.

Yeah but you've got to pay for that PSL every year if I understand correctly, plus tickets. I don't have that kind of money even if I was at the top of the waiting list. Pretty quick it won't be worth it to a lot of people if they keep going 8-8.

No you don't. That PSL was a 1 time thing. You just pay your renewal every year.

So at the game last night a Steeler Rep came to my seat and gave me this Terrible Towel -- I assume it was because I checked in on Steelers Nation Unite Site ... so cool to WIN something at a game

Of all the things they could have given you of similar value I think this is the best and likely the classiest thing they could have done.

Awesome! The Terrible Towel unfurl was absolute incredible. I got to bring my dad with me and we got a shirt and helped wave the giant Terrible Towel. We were on the home sideline and managed to find a spot right on the 50-yard line. Easily one of the coolest things that I have ever done.

It was pretty cool -- not sure if anyone else got them -- no one else in my section from what I could see

That is cool that your dad got to help to. I think that is a really cool thing to get to do .

I really like the story of the terrible towel and how it came to be and what it was then used for. The fact that the revenue is used to help those with disabilities is just tremendous.

It is really fun when you tell and opposing team fan (Who hates the Terrible Towel ) the story -- they always react --

Some of them have said WOW -- I didn't know that. Well I guess I can hate it a little less .. or that is cool how can I dislike it now .. Actually most think it is really cool .

Awesome! I was thinking about you when I saw you guys take the field. And to think it was the same night #75 was retired. Way cool! Glad you enjoyed.
