Steelers only get a 4th round comp pick.

I though Bud qualified us for a third?

Ha but they IRd him and his eligible games dropped him to a fourth and playing other guys knocked off the other picks
The system is a joke when Joe Haeg on his contract playing just over 25% of his snaps cancels out Feiler on his contract as a full-time starter.

It seems like we always get screwed in these comp picks. The formula is so scewered that it makes it impossible to figure out except the NFL brass and it seems the more "in" you are with the brass the better comp. pick outcome for yaz.

When many here get excited and start talking about comp. picks I just think yea, right and sit back and wait for the actual announcement. Everytine we end up lacking what most think we should get.

I'm glad for the comp pick but wish the process was more legitimate.

Comp picks should purely be based on the amount of money a free agent signs for. It should only apply to teams own draft picks or udfas they developed that were with the team for multiple years… if you lose a guy you put three years developing into to a large contract elsewhere you should be compensated for it… if you sign some bum as a minimum wager that shouldn’t cancel out anything

Once the Tomlin coaching tree starts to take seed..we will be getting some 3rd rounders u just wait and see

Would those be 25 year seeds ?

I read a great story about Chuck Noll and how much he hated giving up draft picks. In the 1974 draft, the Steelers get Swann in the 1st and Noll really, really wanted Stallworth in the 2nd. Bud Carson argued with him, saying, "You just drafted a wide receiver, the defense needs help." So they Steelers draft Lambert in the 2nd.

Noll is convinced that Stallworth will not be there for the Steelers next pick since Noll had traded their 3rd round pick for an eminently mediocre defensive lineman from the Raiders, Tom Keating. Keating played 12 games in 1973 and was bounced after that season to make room for a Steelers draft pick, Ernie Holmes.

We all know that Stallworth somehow lasted until the 4th round, but Noll never forgot how mad he was at himself for trading a valuable 3rd rounder for a space-filler like Keating.

The moral of the story: Steelers, stop trading your draft picks!!
