Steelers place the right of first refusal tender on AA Ron.

A fellow I once knew always said " retirement is the best thing that could ever happen to a person. "

One would think that if a handshake agreement were truly in place, then this move by the Steelers would be completely unnecessary. Seems to me that they really don't know what the hell the guy is going to do, and they're just covering their a$$ at this point. So it gives me some renewed hope there is a decent chance that Rodgers won't be back.

I can't believe we're enduring 2 years of this nonsense,**** or get off the pot.

You either want to play or you don't. If he really wants to play he should be training his *** off to get the most out of the talent he has left. The arm is good, but the legs need some work.

I have no idea what he's doing, but if it's just chilling licking frogs then I think it's time to call it a day.

It's not like he needs the money.
Maybe licking frogs is an expensive hobbie?

Rooney’s many comments about Rodgers also show he has balls the size of a fruit fly
I think it aligns with his agenda. He sees AAron as a means to another winning season. If he gets anything more than that it is icing on the cake for him. He wants the perception of being in contention.

Why did we force Ben into Retirement?
Yeah, the guy that is an all time Franchise great, yet here we sitting around allowing a 42 year old QB who hasn't done a damn thing for this franchise string us along.

Hello
Steelers filed paperwork to beat a deadline. No downside to do so and it doesn’t indicate any attitude on Steelers part.

Steelers likely know what Rodgers is going to do. Perhaps they apologize to you for not telling.

On the other hand, maybe a veteran qb wants to think about whether he wants to risk his mobility in the dangerous NFL.

Any of you raging incel punks would be terrified to play one down as qb in NFL.

So keep crying. Glad you have a forum to do so.

Hello.

Hello
One more thing. Steelers would be bringing in Rodgers as a second QB. Project 2027 is real; Steelers want to avoid the playoffs one year to get a good pick.

Means, they will let young players take their lumps and learn. Steelers want to accumulate picks to move up on draft day. So they will be open to trading vets and playing young players.

Draft day 2037, Steelers hope to trade up for a top-5; hopefully top-3 pick. With that they will either select:
a) franchise qb, which they hope not to do because they hope one of the young qbs can step up, or
b) absolute monster LT like Boselli or Ogden to anchor line for years.

TLDR:
Steelers only want Rodgers for backup qb. Economical and accomplished backup. Nothing to get worked up about.

Steelers intend not to win many games next year. They will field one of thethe youngest starting lineups in league next year.
