Del, Cope is correct, cap counts the Top 51 contracts.
51 players count against the cap during training camp.
Once the season has started, all players – whether on the 53-man roster, Injured Reserve (IR), Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) or the Practice Squad (PS) – count against the team's Salary Cap. The only players that do not count against the Salary Cap are players who are on one of the NFL exempt lists.
Dammit. I like that Feeney kid. I wish he could make the squad.
Thanks Justin. All though I am curious if, IR/Waived players entire contract are counted, which is used on the cap? the original salary or the settlement?
Waived injured I don't think count. That's a tough one to find. Do you have a specific example of a player that got waive/injured settlement that we know the amount?
