well hopefully we do not have injuries at the CB position any time between now and final cutsThey are giving him a chance to catch on as early as he can somewhere

One thing you're forgetting that has been mentioned by the coaches and the player himself is that Peterson is slot capable and willing to move around as needed. That lessens the need to keep one of those slot capable safeties. And, it's not like Norwood has been stellar; even with his flexibility.
I get cutting him. I dont get cutting him in May
Thanks for the link. Looking at that list, Gunner might be the next casualty, for a cap savings of $2 million.
Mitch and Vance gave us some good times. When you are dollar diving you will get a fair share of what you usually get with a dollar. Not much. I think Omar has had a better approach but also had a little more money flexibility to be able to take on that approach. Yeah a wait and see on the new crop obviously but I like what I see so far. Not that there isn't some concerns for me. As I think they need a pass rusher to sub in at OLber, a slot corner for competition, and a coverage ILber to fill out the room. Those three areas are thin...The real disappointment of cutting Witherspoon is that we gave up a fifth for him,and once again whether by trade or FA moves ,let’s face it,the player signing has been a disappointment. So many of the FA’s over the last few years have been cut in the first or second year. It’s so rare that anyone has been offered a second contract.
Myles Jack, and Mitch Trubiski our 2 big signings of last year. Nothing. Eric Ebron, Joe Shobert,Jon Bostich,Tico Charlton,Melvin Ingram,Vance McDonald ,Mark Barron,Donte Moncrief, all in the last 4 years. Obviously I am missing more, can’t think of them all. Of course the Bush fiasco. No wonder our team Depth was so lacking.
To give credit,Fitz and Joe Haden of course turned into stars. Mason Cole,James Daniels helped our line and it will be interesting if they last beyond this season. The life of a NFL player....such a turnstile.
The current regime had to improve our depth. They get full marks for that. Of course no one has played a down yet. I shall remain cautiously optimistic. My favorite signing is definitely Isaac Seumalo. Unfortunately he is 30 already.....Patrick Peterson 33. As usual time will tell all.
I hope Porter looks really good and I hope Trice looks good enough this year to get a roster spot as I seriously doubt he sticks on the PS. He may need a year or two to show what he can do but the kid is very intriguing and should have gone a lot higher than he did. If he's a baller, find a spot on the roster for him.
Combat the injury bug? Trice's ACL injury was in 2021. He rehabbed, and came back to start all 13 games for Purdue last season. His forty time at the combine was exactly .01 of a second slower than Joey Porter, even though Trice is taller and heavier. The guy ran a 4.06 short shuttle and a 6.70 three-cone at his pro day, both excellent times in those lateral movement tests. A man of his size simply cannot put up those types of numbers with a bad knee.I agree, but I also think he may need a year to get NFL strong to combat the injury bug. Time will tell.

Not sure what else Trice needs to do at this point to prove to people that he is indeed healthy, but I'm glad that his draft stock fell. The Steelers absolutely stole him in the seventh round, and I'd be shocked if he doesn't make the team.
