If he is going to miss the preseason due to the injury or even most of it, I doubt they keep a spot for him. They will put him on IR. He is a rookie late round pick who hasn't had a chance to even show what he can do in pads and especially in preseason games. Unless he can come back in a couple weeks, his season is probably over anyhow. It sucks but that's the likely outcome.
Yeah… i mean if its a couple of weeks, he still stands a chance, but unlike the local media I think he had a very steep hill to climb before getting dinged.. he was always going to be a bit of a project but had high playmaking upside. Next year, when Wallace has moved on and PatPete is closer to the cliff he will have a greater chance to have a surefire spot.

This year they just need more inside guys than outside guys… and I think trice can probably play inside, but he was going to need time to adapt..

From accounts I heard, his cleats were stuck in the turf when he fell to the ground. Doesn't matter how healthy you are that isn't going to end well. To make matters worse, it was his right knee that had not had surgery. Have to wait and see what the prognosis is for the young man. Hopefully it is just a hyper extended knee with a slight ligament tear and bone bruise. Ramon Foster had a similar injury on the first day of padded practice several years ago. It initially looked bad but he was back out there to start the season. Here's hoping it isn't grim news and he hasn't torn his ACL completely or suffered a similar injury as Sean Spence.

Spence got shoved from behind and hyperextended his knee the wrong way… it barely misses my top ten gruesome sport’s injuries…that really wasn’t non contact… probably more in line with what happened to Woodson trying to tackle Sanders in 95

I was talking his “under-panties”……………………. (From what I’ve been told by a friend)……………

I was referring to the type injury rather than the manner in which it happened. No contact necessary. Cleats get stuck in the turf and the knee twists. Physics is kind of unforgiving in that sort of a scenario. Woodson, Ki-Jana Carter the list goes on and on... not the first and he won't be the last. Hope it looked worse than it was and that Cory goes on to have a great career.
