Steelers Schedule Leaks

The home schedule sucks. Three games at home in October, the best month for football, is awesome. The fact that all three are night games blows. Factor in the Christmas day game (I personally don't mind this, but it makes it real tough on a lot of people) and half of the schedule is really inconvenient for ticket holders.

Week 11 through the end of the season is real tough. On top of 6 divisional games, Philadelphia and Kansas City, wow. The plus side is it takes about 10 games for the OL coach to get the OL working together and this is when the ground game starts clicking. So maybe that is a good thing.

Not a single division game until week 11. Then the Browns twice in three weeks. Very strange.

1. New OC
2. New playbook (terminology, scheme, packages, concepts)
3. New personnel

#3 is pretty much a given for all teams and it isn't all that new. However, worst case scenario is that the Steelers have two rookies and a second year player on the offensive line learning a new zone blocking scheme (assumption that Smith won't stick to a gap scheme) which relies a lot on timing, communication, and coordination. Couple that with two running backs with different running styles (Timing impact) it really points to a slow start for the Steeler's offense.

I believe Dan Moore remains the LT starting the season until he's comfortable with his rookie starting at RT. If this is true, and Frazier starts at Center, the impact is less significant but still substantial. I still see a slow start for the Steelers.

I listen to 105.7 the fan in the Baltimore area, They are saying HUGE advantage to the Steelers that they have time for the Oline to gel before they hit division games. "NFL loves the Steelers"

LOL

Well, they are right that our HC, with this OL coach, need over half a season to gell. They shouldn't, but they DO. KC replaces both OT with rookies and are good to go by week 2. Pgh? Takes 11 weeks to start gelling with one new OLman. Could be one of the many areas that Tomlin's "lack of discipline" impacts.

Steelers schedule seems to be leaking out fast: Wk 1: at ATL Wk 2: at DEN Wk 6: at LV Wk 12: at CLE (TNF) Wk 13: at CIN Wk 15: at PHI Wk 16: at BAL (Sat.) Wk 17: KC (Xmas)

If this is all correct, they get 3 games in 10 days vs. Eagles, Ravens and Chiefs

Could be they liked the “covid” schedule so they thought they’d do it again.

Salute the nation
