This signing has Patrick Peterson written all over it. Except Pate Pete was coming off a 5 interception season. CP is coming off 219 yards from scrimmage and 1 total td. Better be league minimum otherwise this will look like a dud for Khan.

This guy isnt being signed as a RB... he is tge new KR now that they modified the rules like huge ******** to push offense

I think you guys are missing the point of this signing. Kickoff returns are now huge and he is going to be that guy.

Under tge new rules teams may use two returners... and now we have two... its going to be very weird this year... massive change

Taking a chance on a veteran in a very specialized role. Is it really any worse than wasting a roster spot on Anthony McFarland? We'll see what he has left in the tank on kick returns.
What’s the signing bonus? I mean, the lower the better if you have to cut him.
Except Patterson is a better player than McFarland IMO. But yeah will have to see if some juice is still in the box. I bet that two year contract is a low hit this year....

2 years for 6 mill is crazy. I would just take the touch back everytime or fair catch it when it isn't kicked into the EZ....and get the ball at the 25 yard line. My take.
Edit....just read the new rules...steelerlebanon has got it right. This could be a very nice signing considering the new rules.

there is no fair catch now. if you let roll into the endzone you get it at the 20. if it reaches the endzone on the fly you get it at the 35 I believe.

Yep they basically are forcing offense through the kickoffs
I think its 30 yard line if it goes out of tge end zone... 20 if you let it roll into the end zone
40 if it goes out of bounds or if it falls short of the 20
So no more squib kicks or surprise onside kicks
Even at his age he is a decent kick returner. Also makes a perfect RB3/WR 3.5 for Mr. Smith's offense. Say what you will, they are giving Smith what he wants for his scheme.

Make the field even shorter. It should open it up for big returns since you can't even run until he catches the darn thing.
Every offseason they **** with the game and rules just a little more.
Judgment call type stuff too.
