Steelers Texans game thread.

I can't blame Pickett, because no part of this team is coached well. I gotta blame the coaches for everything negative Kenny.

Stroud not looking quite as good when he experiences pressure.

I’m thinking TOP in the first half ain’t even close.

That looks MUCH better!!!

That's a bit of a reach. Kid looks good for a rookie whether he's pressured or not.

That makes total sense. I dont know if he just cant improvise or if the isnt allowed to improvise, but teams are saying we are going to put a bunch of players up on or close to the line and you arent going to run and we dont believe Pickett can beat us. And although we are 2-1, it seems to be correct. If not for the defensive scoring for PIT, we might not be 2-1 right now,. This offense is terrible.
The scheme is so bad it is hard to improvise. He doesn’t have Ben’s experience or willingness to make his own plays.

Stroud is a weird case… his good passes look great, but he is within 1% of pickett for bad throws… and that stat doesn’t factor in throw aways or spikes.. he is only 20 th in the league in on target throws… but his offensive scheme is really good at playing to his strengths…

You don't think his accuracy has gone down when the Steelers have got pressure on him today? I think it has significantly. A few misfires and throwing behind his receivers.

most of the time I want to think the same. Kid is playing behind a terrible OLine, but then are times when he has time and he is just not accurate. He throws high or like on the interception today, he throws into double coverage and he is short and the result in a pick. He should either hit Austin in stride or be a little long on that play but never short, yet that is what he does.

I do agree the OL is terribly coached and that is not Kenny's fault

I see Houston running well executed screens and our screens look like the three stooges are out front blocking.Execution is as big a flaw as Canada's play calling.
Oh yeah. With this offense it is definitely all of the above.

When you know what plays are coming it helps. Seems Texans know exactly what we are doing on Offense and what defenses we are running. I think that has something to do with coaching.

I’ve got the Miami - Buffalo game in the background. We are years behind these teams and their offense. Players and coaching.

That is the really weird thing… nobody in the league threw more off target passes than Stroud, ( pickett has a higher %) but he had no picks…

Most QBs accuracy goes down when pressured. It's the same excuse I've seen used for why KP8 hasn't looked good this year. The thing is, that Stroud hasn't shown a propensity for "happy feet" when pressured in this game. Kenny continues to do so.

You would think at some point one of our WRs would be open....but could Pickett get him the ball?
