CLOWN-LIN DOESN'T LIKE TRADITIONAL DTs.Whelp that solidifies a first round DT
He's taking marching orders from Clown-lin, what do you expect? The whole thing is a sh-- show, and it's gonna keep getting worse.I'm trying to digest this trade.......
So the Commanders get Deebo Samuel for a 5th Round pick and we trade for a guy who IMO is less versatile, has better stats receiving but is pretty much a go route, deep threat WR with better straight line speed. DK has good hands but he is more less a one trick pony with a limited route tree. His best season was 2020 when he had 1303 yds receiving & 10 TD's.
Compare that to Deebo Samuel....a twitch receiver with similar hands and a better route runner who's more versatile running routes. His best season was 2021 when he had over 1405 yds 6 TD's receiving but also added 365 yds & 8 TD's rushing.
They got him for a 5th! And we gave up our 2nd Round Pick (54th overall) for DK Metcalf? I'm sorry this is a bad move for the Steelers! Losing that 2nd round pick for DK Metcalf really hurts! He probably fits Tomlin's passing game philosphy since Tomlin basically refuses to throw in the middle of the field....so now we can watch whoever is QB throw up jump balls down the sidelines outside the numbers because that's Mike Tomlin's passing game!
Mark my words this will become one of the worst Steeler Free Agent signings of the Tomlin Era!
This trade SUCKS! WTF is Khan doing?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they move on from GP. DK is a WR1 in this league. They needed a WR2 but went balls deep on this to bring in DK. As much as I'd like to see them on the field together, I still think that is more unlikely.I wouldn't be surprised if they move on from Pickens this offseason, there's no way they're going to pay GP now too, and how's he going to act not being the #1 guy now. He and DK are very similar in their skill set as well, but I guess all of it is for not if they don't get someone in here that can throw the ball to them. Arthur Smith always uses the TE as WR2 so, I just can't see them keeping the headache that is Pickens. DK just said he wants to go to a warm place, with a stable QB position, and a contender, so who knows if he'll be all in here as well once he sees this **** show of an offensive system.
You are going to be very surprised then next year. I'll tell you that for free. He's Pickass' muscular older brother. And he absolutely tries when he feels like it.Except Metcalf plays hard and doesn't act like a child.
It's an act born from desperation, they got caught short at WR last year and this is an over-reaction to that. Remember all those promises last season that lasted all season? "We got something big percolating, you just watch and see." Well, we watched, endlessly, and we saw nothing of substance come from those promises, not a damn thing. Oh, but the promises kept coming, to no prevail. Not a damn thing. So, this year, they panic and trade too high, too much for a 1 trick pony. DK will be OK, but giving a 2nd rounder is too high, hurts our draft capital too much. And we still have no one to throw to him, and it's gonna be in Clown-lin conditions, ala thrown in 3rd and long most times, ala the Tomlin way of offense. I don't care what QB is throwing in those conditions. 1st down run, 2nd down run, 3rd down incomplete pass, 4th down punt. End of story. Over and over again, like an endless bad movie. We've seen it before. And the defense eventually get's worn down so by the time we reach the playoffs, it's weakened and mostly given up at Clown-lins stupidity. End of season, playoff blowout.A gadget guy? We had another gadget guy a while ago who wore #82 and was pretty damn good! I would have taken him over DK Metcalf every day of the week and twice on Sunday! I just don't think spending $150 Mil on a guy who is a one trick pony is a good investment! They gave up a 2nd round pick in the 2025 draft for him......This is not the Steeler way! You build through the Draft!
You can't blame them: they simply want some advancement towards coopetition, which hasn't happened for the last decade. The Steelers were caught blustering in the wind in 2024, making a whole lot of noise with nothing to follow it. All bluster, no substance. So, they were caught and felt like they had to show _SOME_ advancement, so they over-reached for DK. I am guessing they think they have a good plan to fill the QB position, but who in the hell can fill those shoes with Clown-lin running the show? No one. Even if they are lucky enough to land someone competent, Clown-lin will wreck those hopes with his mismanagement. It's inevitable. We still don't have a decent-functioning OL. And won't while Meyer is still here. This is hilarious. Steelers fans and countless on this forum have complained for years and years how the Steelers stayed mostly out of the free agency mayhem. Now, with Kahn over the past 2 or 3 years, they realized you can't only build the team through the draft and have jumped into the first day of free agency. And, many fans are complaining again but for the opposite reason.
Doubtful? C’mon Still, what % of the cap did Ben takeup when he had his contracts? TJ’s is nowhere close.Ben vs Watt.....meh....your take doubtful.
True but this is the Steelers we're talking about. LOL. I'd love to see them both manning the perimeter for the next 5 years but I'm not sure they will want to put that kind of money into 2 WR divas. DK is not a Cooper Kupp or another mostly humble WR. DK has the same traits as GP (and possibly worse) especially when it comes to after the play dumb penalties. But again, I'd love to see them both on the field together with a QB that can get it to them and a coach who will allow the QB to audible and throw down the middle. All this talk about not paying both DK and GP is nonsense. The Dolphins have both Hill and Waddle signed WITH a huge QB contract on the books as well. Hill is getting 30 per, Waddle 28m. The Bengals are about to do the same with Chase and Higgins. The cap jumped 25m, a lot more money to play with. In a few years, these 30m per contracts are gonna be bargains.
They are tired of his attitude and immaturity, yet they trade for a guy that acts the same way. It's brilliant really. The more I thought about this last night I can’t help but believe Pickens is on the trade block. They sent a clear message to George that you aren’t our guy. They are NOT paying both George and Metcalf big money. I think they’ve had enough of Pickens attitude and immaturity and are ready to move on.
If they can get a first or even a second you have to move on and draft your number two WR.
They may even be close to having a trade partner already for Pickens. We’ll see!
When Watt got paid it was in the range of qb money. Still is really. Just not the upper echelon of QBs.Doubtful? C’mon Still, what % of the cap did Ben takeup when he had his contracts? TJ’s is nowhere close.

meatball can stay for training camp in my opinion, but as depth in case of injuriesAnyone else surprised we haven't cut Ogunjobi, Patterson, etc.? I sure hope they don't plan to bring either back. That goes for Little Heyward as well.

Let's be honest, is little meatball here for any reason other than his brother and Clown-lin's bizzare infatuation with having brothers on the team?meatball can stay for training camp in my opinion, but as depth in case of injuries
I am, but at the same time, do you cut bait before you have their replacement, or an idea of one? In Patterson's case, he's realistically the only RB rostered at the moment.Anyone else surprised we haven't cut Ogunjobi, Patterson, etc.? I sure hope they don't plan to bring either back. That goes for Little Heyward as well.
