The Pittsburgh Steelers almost added a defensive tackle on Monday, but didn’t have a high enough waiver priority.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released DT Khalil Davis, and the Steelers put in a claim for him, but he was awarded to Indianapolis because they had a higher priority than the Steelers.

Davis was a sixth round pick of the Buccaneers in 2020 and appeared in two games for the Super Bowl Champs recording 2 tackles, and 2 quarterback hits.

New Colts DT Khalil Davis was a very popular player on waivers, as Indy, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and the Chargers all attempted to claim him.

The Colts had top priority, but Davis was *this* close to joining his twin brother Carlos on the Steelers.

This news is especially interesting because his twin brother Carlos was a draft choice of the Steelers in 2020. He’s currently dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out since week 1.

Had the Steelers been able to claim him they would’ve likely released Henry Mondeaux and placed him back on the practice squad if he cleared waivers himself.

Khalil and Carlos would’ve been the third set of brothers on the Steelers roster with TJ and Derek Watt, and Terrell and Trey Edmunds.

How can they have a higher priority? We need all the help we can get.
well, they have Prince Harry at QB.

He isn't a former first rounder? Bah

No surprise the Steelers were interested - they do like their pairs.

Tiebreaker- Steelers, Houston and Indy all have same record, and Houston are ahead of Indy on Division tiebreaker and it seems Steelers have a tiebreaker on Houston (appears to be same opponent results as Steelers beat Buffalo and Houston were slaughtered by Buffalo).

But I bet we're more pathetic than they are at present. That should count for something. ;)
