Yes I remember he was completely underwhelming last year while also losing his mind one game, attacking a fan, then getting suspended for two crucial games at the end of the season. What do you remember?

I remember him making quite a few big plays..he's a beast.
Is he a jackazz? Of course he is, and so is Rodgers. And so was Big Ben, AB, etc. Just PRODUCE. And he will, give it time. He was basically the only NFL caliber wideout on the team last year and almost put up 1K. This year should be better.
 
Dudes were rusty and not in synch but that's to be expected when your starters don't play in pre-season games and you do very little tackling in training camp.
If memory serves, Tom Br*dy played a lot in pre-season games. Dude won 7 SB's so maybe there's something to that.
The refs were out of shape as well.
But an ugly win is still a win. We're lucky the Falcons were down to their third-string QB.

I'm not going to nit pick too much over week 1. Since group think has demanded that nobody play preseason, it means the week 1 is essentially a preseason caliber game for most starters.

Defense was good for game 1 without much preseason tackling.

The offense is much different. Everyone roasted Rodgers for throwing short and quickly last year. That was the offense and he had no weapons. This year he has more weapons and an offense that actually tries to attack downfield with something other than passes to a washed up TE.

Hopefully Max can get on the field soon and this OL can start to really come together.
 
This is what a chart should look like. Steelers probably could have scored more if they kept it simple or went for the easy completions, but they were aggressive, looking for chunk plays. It wasn't quite in sync, Some missed throws, some drops, missed PI calls. But they were pretty close on hitting a bunch of these. I'll take that for week 1.

 
QB
A-a-Ron played solid. Couple really nice throws. Kept the ball safe. Had a few drops.

RB
Didn’t have a lot to work with. Fumble was god awful.

WR
Wtf DK

Pittman looked good. Wilson I think might be a reasonable slot receiver.

TE
Muth needs to be a bigger part of the offense. Same with Washington.

OL
I would put Troy at RG, leave Cook at LT and roll with Max at RT.

DL
Heyward and Black looked good. I might give Gabe a hat next week.

ILB
Cole looks fast out there. Queen is overpaid.

Edge
Watt has his best game in two years. Herbig was a non factor. Highsmith looked solid.

CB
Joey who?

S
Brisker had a gimme but he hauled it in and had a couple nice tackles.

Bos is still Bos.
 
Initial thought:
At least Rodgers is holding on to the ball for a bit longer, and getting it down the field for the most part. They said on the broadcast that he had the lowest air yards average in NFL history last year -- did I hear that right? Knew it was bad; didn't know it was the worst of all-time.

Other thoughts:
1) Great game by TJ Watt. He looked like his old dominating self, a version which I thought might not be coming back again. Highsmith was noticeable, as well.
2) Dylan Cook was a flash in the pan last year. He's just not any good. Got exposed in the preseason, and it carried over to the game today. I can't imagine he'll still be starting in a few weeks from now. McCarthy is smarter than to keep him in there for the long-term.
3) Jaylen Warren has evidently not addressed his biggest weakness. It didn't affect the outcome today because they were playing an average team who had to start a third-string quarterback, but somewhere down the road, if he keeps fumbling, it's going to cost the Steelers a win.
4) It's getting more and more difficult to support DK Metcalf. Yeah, he got grabbed on the one long incompletion (that was a tad underthrown by Rodgers), but it just seems like he doesn't come down with the combat catches you would expect a $30 million-a-year WR1 to make.
5) Payton Wilson had a very strong game, with 13 tackles, 5 solos, 2 TFLs, and some good pass coverage as well. Loved the pick a couple years back. Perhaps he can really come into his own this year in a system which seems much more conducive to his skill set.

Remember the old charts with literally every single ball but maybe three way outside the hash marks
 
DK is a problem with the ball in his hands. He's a specimen unquestionably. He ripped off a big run for TD last year. But he's actually kinda stiff to make a wow catch and he gives you as many wtf was that as what a great play.
