Steelers vs Packers Preseason

even the PI calls that Allar got - throws were on the money. I love that McCarthy gave Drew plenty of play action, let him run it in, let him go for it on 4th in their own territory. Drew is Mike's draft pick. Allar is going to be the guy not Howard. Ive been saying this for a while. Howard looked good but he just doesn't have the arm Allar has. Plenty of plays where you need a cannon to get a completion. The whole playbook is open for Drew because of his arm. I know its only preseason but the kid looked pretty good in his first game in a while. Lets hope the young QBs build off of this. Howard developing is important too. Hes a future backup or trade bait.

Definitely can’t teach that arm strength. He isn’t a small guy either. What I take from him is this, what made Aaron special was his quick release. What makes Allar special is his arm strength can power those throws out to mirror a quick release. As the ball gets there quickly.

We saw a glimpse of that talent, a work in progress but you have to like his first showing.

It's all good. We'll figure out how good or bad this team is by mid November, as always. Great to catch another game regardless of if it's preseason or not.

Yep, on both sides of the field. You can't get too excited or down by what's happening until about halfway through the season. By then all the glitter will have sifted out but like I said, it's all good
Great to be able to catch another Steelers game whenever possible.
 
Aller looked way better than most here thought he would.

Howard got there as well.

Rudy is going nowhere, he showed out very well and calm / cool / collective as usual.

One can see the MM effect of coaching up in all three of these guys, what a difference coaching is making.

Well that went about as well as we could have hoped it would aside of the penalties. Wish the running game was a little better but hey, it s the first preseason game.

Us PSU fans always knew Allar has it. I always thought he was hamstrung by Franklin and the limited offensive talent they had at receiver.

Last night was the breath of fresh air, some of us Steelers fans have been dreaming about for years.

I've said it 100 times. When Allar has his feet set and steps into the throw, he's as good as anyone. He just didn't do that very often, instead looking like he was aiming the ball. It cost him. Looks like he's starting to get right.

Not reading too much into any performance by any of the QB's. They all were pretty damn good and that's certainly a positive. It could all go south in a week just as easily. Just take it for what it is and hope the young guys keep developing. All of them.
 
My kid summed it up. Just preseason vs guys who will be depth, practice squad and gone. But would you prefer this or meh.
In my opinion they should step up who plays with and against. Its really about next years draft.
