Steelers vs Stains - Game Thread

Sometimes I wonder if you guys even stop to think before you post. Tomlin does not call ANY of the offensive plays. That's the OC coordinator Todd Haley's job/role. Its like you guys read from a script every week.

He's the HEAD COACH! What, do you think he wanted to run out the clock and was powerless to Haley's play calling? JEESH!

Again .... the clock WAS run out ...So what's the problem?

Or ... maybe they did decide to run out the clock ... just not on the schedule you would have wanted. THREE straight kneel downs to end the game ... seems suspiciously like running out the clock

So Ben or AB blows out his knee on that meaningless long pass attempt with under 2:00 left, you'd be on here explaining to everyone that they were running out the clock?

Just win baby...and we did..........6 up, 4 down. Path to the playoffs continues

Is that what happened? I missed that part ...
You know, the scenario you propose could happen at any point in any game. Should they just not play offense? They needed to pick up a first down in order to be ABLE to run out the clock. They picked it up ... They knelt to end the game. Victory is sweet.

And if that's the best that you guys who like to complain after a win have this week .. Hell I'll take it.

Edit: Another thing. If risk of injury is your reason for not liking how Tomlin allowed the end of the game to unfold, why aren't you bitching about his decision to activate Ben for this game. A hobbled Ben, playing on a bad ankle and knee ... tsk, tsk, tsk ... What if he blew his knee out? I mean an already injured player stands a greater chance of being injured.

We won the damn game 30 -9 with a banged-up QB, backups at LT, Center and RB and still some are not happy. Come on man! I'm cool with a 6-4 record at the bye week with missing Ben for 4-1/2 games and factoring in the other injuries. If we can split the last 6 I think 9-7 gets us a wildcard. And don't give the Legion of Gloom too much credit. They haven't been the same since that stupid call by the genius Pete Carroll in the SB. They can be had. I worry more about these ****** teams like the Clowns and Rats in their place with nothing to play for. That's where we always seem to get tripped up with those games.

It very well could have happened, it's not at all uncommon for players to get hurt. Winning $10k playing Russian Roulette doesn't make it a smart decision after the fact.

Any point in the game isn't meaningless as the game isn't decided.

Again, had a player gotten hurt, you'd be crazy pissed off right now. Your argument has no integrity.

How I wish Brown would act the part be a pro and a star for the Steelers, his foolishness could have injured him with his flip. They never showed Tomlin but I would hope he would have some influence on Brown and stop the BS. Ben is one heck of a player and deserve a whole lot more respect than he receives. Great game even though they removed game here In Raleigh was able to continue on Direct TV, celebrating with a cold IC Light and a big old burger.

So, you're saying that dressing an already injured Ben was OK, but letting him try to make a play was not? Had Ben been hurt further by playing in this game, you'd be "crazy pissed" right now.
Seems to me that you are the one speaking with a forked tongue.
In any event, I'll just enjoy this win and not worry about "what could have happened but didn't" ... So, for my part, I'll just agree to disagree with you.

I give thumbs up to Williams which was held to nothing but at the end picking up the first downs and some nice first down runs was great.

SteelBuckeye, amen brother, Ben banged up was better than Vic, no one expected Jones to be hurt ten plays into the game. The line really did a good job as well as Ben getting rid of the ball to stay up right during the game.

Just enjoy the win, man. Who gives a **** about could haves, and what ifs ? If youre that worried about injury, then don't dress him. Fortunately his foot wasn't as bad as previously thought and Vick would be taking snaps

Dude, what don't you get?

Was the game decided when the decisions was made to dress Ben? Yes or no?

Was the game decided when he threw the late pass? Yes or no?

Not exactly a insignificant difference.

Ya know, when our best players get hurt, I would drive myself crazy if I focused on what "could have been". So when Ben comes out okay from a risky situation, I'm certainly not going to dwell on what could have happened. I'm just enjoying the win and glad he played so well. This game should prove that as long as Ben is healthy enough to play, he should play. Sure he could get injured, but he could get injured when he's healthy too. He could get injured off the field. A lot of things can happen. But the team pays him to win games and throw the ball all over the field, so I'm glad to see that's exactly what he did today

That was an interesting game! Awesome **** by our future HOF QB and AB has some sick flipping skills. A 10 on that landing! Glad he didn't get all ****** up. Bryant is getting back to his TD machine ways....I love the turnovers&sacks this defense is getting...fantastic. The billion yards of cheap passing down field they give up needs some serious work though.

I agree about the cheap yards because the Steelers won't be facing Johnny turnover ever week.

You can't expect the secondary to cover the receivers indefinitely. Any QB who can extend the play by scrambling or stepping up in the pocket is going to get those yards.

Bias aside (see screen name) - let's stop acting like Johnny isn't a worthy adversary. The kid can ball

He's not the worst QB I've ever seen. Brian Hoyer also thew all over us and he's absolute garbage.

It seems like in the NEW NFL everyone throws all over us. Just have to hope we make them take the threes instead of the sevens and get a few opportunistic TO's as we have been. Oh. And just score more points than our opponents. If we do that I think we will win. :)

On playing Ben it was a risk....... but here is where Tomlin can thank his lucky stars.

Going into the game you have one healthy and one hobbled QB.

Yet you don't keep active a third option. A if one gets hurt you would think the second option already hurt can go down easier than the norm.

But yet there was Vick inactive. (Which I have a problem with them not releasing him and bringing in another vet keep sitting on those hands Colbert)

Keep rolling the dice like last year you are going to find yourself short at the most inopportune time.
