Because it was 4th down. We initially were going to kick the field goal. And the timeout was called immediately after JuJu's catch, i think you were referring to Conner's run before.

The deferral contributed to the slow start, IMO.

With the way the Steelers a currently built, they should always take the ball first.

Typical conservative start against a lesser opponent. Came on in the 2nd qtr. opened things up. Ended half with a nearly walk-off TD. Cleveland had time for one more play. 14-6. Steelers.
