Yeap, not here yet thoughMostly it's legal.
You could take away all the fake merchandise and everything else like the pirating streams and guess what?........the prices would still be the same. And then go up the following year.It isn't when you made a living selling the real things for 5 years for a team and spent half your time trying to fight trademark infringement and bootlegging. it directly impacts a lot of costs for arenas and stadium pro shops. The NHL was bad enough can't imagine being an NFL retail director.
Sure based on inflation but not as they do because o other pressures. During the All-Star game I worked for the White Sox they estimated they lost about a half million in counterfeit sales to illegal vendors around the stadium and that is with them spending thousands on security and confiscating thousands of t-shirts hats and other accouterment. Concerts are worse, The Fleet center as the new Boston Gardens was called then, actually lost money running the retail for the Madonna Concert I helped manage after they had to contractually provide the security for the acts retailers and it cost more than the ****** amount left after paying the vendors to do the selling. Although that is also reflective of the sad state of the union in Boston and the way they protected the thieves they employed to run the stands. Concert retail is a ****** business. I was helping in Detroit for a rap festival and had to watch two of the acts retail managers pull guns on each other fighting over the split which the contract stated they got in cash. That was a scary scene. I never let them send me up there again for that festival. Even though it was 17 years ago I still have some connections in the business and it still sucks to work concerts. You could take away all the fake merchandise and everything else like the pirating streams and guess what?........the prices would still be the same. One problem is the sport league have their items priced so high it makes it am incentive to go to the cheap knock off brand. They themselves cost themselves $$$$$. I look at breat cancer month in the NFL. I know a bunch of people who would buy merchandise thinking most if not all of the money goes to fighting breast cancer. Nope. The NFL exploits for their own financial gain. Sorry. I will never lose sleep over someone buying a knock off hat or jersey. Or streaming a game for free. To go to a game it cost a small fortune now. This may be coming next year with Apple TV+.the NFL sucks so hard at this
i wish there was an NFL app I could subscribe to. The dream is to subscribe to Steelers only, and just pay for those games.
