That isn't what the article says. It says persons who have been "deemed to be dangerous." Who gets to decide that? Our government? Pass. Pretty soon, police start getting calls about the weird guy across the street. He isn't doing anything wrong or illegal, but something just ain't right about him. He does weird **** late at night blah blah. Get enough calls, well, that guy is probably dangerous. Next thing ya know law enforcement swoops in and takes his guns because he is weird. I know the government worshippers on the left would find no fault in it, but that isn't how the system works. Due process FIRST. It is the law.

Here's why I'm not worked up about this YET. Trump blurts **** out. That's just how he is. It's not because he's dumb, it's because he's live and unfiltered at almost all moments. As such, there have been quite a few times where he says something in the heat of the moment, then later he clarifies what he meant.

This latest shooting is in everybody's mind. So when people talk about taking guns away from somebody, they are thinking about somebody like this kid where there were many red flags and complaints and it seems various agencies dropped the ball.

Nobody wants mentally disturbed people to have guns. The problem is, you must have a clear law and due process in place to take away a civil right. Felons can't have guns. Pretty simple and well defined. But who is to say who is mentally disturbed? Liberals say just about every conservative is disturbed.

The problem here is liberals can't be trusted to be honest.

Case in point, a few weeks ago, liberals were falsely claiming Trump made it easier for people with mental issues to get guns. The truth was that Trump repealed a bullshit order from Obama that said that if somebody's personal finances were in bad shape, it meant they could be considered mentally deficient. Utter horseshit.

There's your problem. The law must be clearly written. They want to say you can't have guns if you are the no fly list. Sounds good until you ask yourself, who decides who gets on the no fly list? Is it a judge or is it some bureaucrat who just adds your name to the list for no clear reason and then they come to your house and take your guns and tell you it will take you 5 years of court battles to prove you deserve your own civil liberties.

That's the problem. The liberals are dishonest. Their goal is to confiscate ALL guns. Except those owned by their own security and of course their fellow elites who will somehow be exempted.

Every proposal is a Trojan Horse, just like that Obama rule where if you have a bad credit score then they can strip you of one of your basic civil rights.

My guess is Trump is caught up in thinking the Dems are honest. That they will support an actual workable law that would strengthen a background check and take guns away from truly certified nut jobs, meaning people who have been evaluated and gone before a judge to declare them mentally unfit. But what will be put forth is a sham with loopholes that will allow cops to come take your guns if your neighbor calls and says he heard you yelling and got scared.

I learned early to watch what Trump does, not what he says.

Tape is spot on here. After watching this gun debate play out, I can now see the error in ANY changes to the 2nd. Even age restriction. The only group who suffers are the law abiding many that do follow the law. And leaving anything open to leftist interpretation is ALWAYS a recipe for disaster. The framers were visionaries.

Thing is, that's what we just had in Ft. Lauderdale and the government failed on all counts. It will be a difficult sell to the majority of Americans for a while.

For him to even suggest it in any capacity, nevermind without due process, is a frightening concept. If he does this, republicans, including Donald Trump will never win another election. The plus side to that is that those same people will never vote Democrat, so maybe we'll actually end up with a viable, truly conservative third party.

And with that we know exactly how "bright" you are. It's exactly because he's dumb...he's a babbling idiot, and if you can't see that for yourself...well if the shoe fits.

Watch him state here that he wants to take guns away without due process, then he immediately goes into dick waving mode on how the NRA doesn't own him. Of course he will be instructed on what his position should be and nothing will come of his "ideas." The snowflake that he is will come to the surface, which in this case is good for you guys.
