Talk about LeVeon Bell in one place

I hear you on the one year rental. But if a team legitimately thinks they can win it all this season and just needs that one particular piece to help make it happen, who knows?

The pats

I believe he's going to forego $800+K he will never get back this weekend by not signing his tender. I believe James Conner is going to come out and get 100 yards rushing against the Clowns.

I believe Le'Veon is opening up future salary cap space for this franchise. I also believe that 3rd round comp pick will look good in black and gold.

I believe coach Cool Shades will run the wheels off this prick when he does finally report because at that point who gives a **** anymore.

No he won't...He will probably be chest bumping and high fiving him on the sidelines when he comes off the field.

Not play, collect paycheck

NFL insider Ian Rapoport said in a report on NFL Network that sources tell him running back Le'Veon Bell could report to the team on Saturday. Rapoport added that the speculation here is that this would allow Bell to collect his $800,000+ game check for Week 1 without actually playing in the game, then practice with the team and get ready to play in Week 2. (Ian Rapoport)

That would suck. I'm thinking a Code Red would be in order.

We may be fortunate that the first game is against the Clowns and our OL is, apparently, healthy. If they can play better than they started last year, Connor and Jaysam should do fine and we can win the game.

Anyone who thinks that Bell wouldn't do better behind a line that is blocking the same as they are if Connor is the game is delusional.

Maybe the OL lets a guy through to hit Bell a little extra on one play or two, to make a point.

Now saying that Saturday report is false.

Of course it's false, it came from INSIDER IAN RapoFalseRePort.

If LeMeon shows up on Saturday, I'd block the gates and lock the doors. Oh, we changed the lock during training camp. Didn't you get your new keys? Oh yeah. Sorry about that week 1 paycheck.

I read an article that stated the Steelers could use a two week roster exemption on Bell where they could either not pay him or pay him if they chose to.

when he signs the deal trade him to san fran for the best draft pick they offer. they are desperate for a running back.

If he does try to come back Saturday, I'd have the contract people "out of the office" so he can't sign until after the deadline.

Since he hasn't communicated clearly, there's no way the F.O. could know to have a contract official on hand, so... Tough ****. See you Tuesday. If contract guy is back, that is...

is this the old "hide the pen" routine that was presented here in years past by another poster?

You can't close the doors, you have to be available if he's willing to sign. Or else the NFLPA would step in and make sure he gets his money.

It's actually smart for Bell to sign before 4pm on Sat. It would mean 1-3 games where he wouldn't have to play, or get paid, if the Steelers use the 2 week roster exemption. You could also move him during those 2 weeks he's exempt. Perfect scenario, and his salary would be off the books, paid by another team, and we'd get better than a 3rd round comp. Extra $14M in cap space for next year!!! Win ******* Win!

What happens if he gets hurt?

I bet that physical will be very very thorough

What If You Had Le'Veon Bell's 14 Million?

As a working class person, who grew up in Pittsburgh, I would be on my knees, thanking the heavens if I had just ONE of Le'Veon Bell's game checks to deposit in my savings, let alone the whole fourteen million. That is more than most Steeler fans will see in lifetime. That is why this whole escapade is so absurd. I think that the majority of Steelers fans, like myself, would rather see the Steelers begin this season with Le'Veon Bell off the team, and gone from the organization, completely. It is time for the Steelers to let him go. If you are like me, you don't want to see Le'Veon Bell come back toward the end of the season, even if it means having a fresh pair of legs on the team. Nor, do we care to see Le'Veon Bell decide to stay with the Steelers, and sign for an astronomical amount of money. And, that compensatory pick is not worth the trouble. This is not Pittsburgh Steeler Football! Above everything else, This is not what Pittsburgh fans want. This spectacle is not what we want to see. This is not the way we want the Pittsburgh Steelers to handle their players. The best thing that the Steelers can do for the Team, The Fans, and The City is to get rid of Le'Veon Bell... NOW!

Drop 14 million on me and I'm going to be retired as soon as it clears the bank. I'd clear about 8.8 million after taxes. Yeah I'd be good.

Honestly it's just a waste of energy at this point in time. It is what it is. I'm focused on the guys playing this Sunday.

I would stay home in my underwear and open up another bell thread

I'd read it, in my underwear and have my "redheaded" girlfriends hand in them as well........................

See.. I’m tired of Le’Veon’s antics too. But let’s be real. Football players are not us, and it’s silly to judge them as if they were. No matter where we are in life, we compare ourselves to our peers. And the free market has determined what football players are worth. It is silly not to try to maximize your earnings, no matter who you are, because some people who do something different than you wish they made the money you did.

People in the slums in 3rd world countries who make pennies a day would love to take home your paycheck. Does that mean you should sit down and shut up if you think you’re not getting your due?

Of course that being said, in this case, I still think the Steelers were fair to Le’Veon and he’s just being petty and greedy at this point, but come on. Enough with this “I’d love to make what he makes” stuff
