Guess money isn't the issue after all.
I'm not even sure if he knows what the issue is.

3. Can't pass a piss test
I wander about this.
Why? Colbert is fool not to listen to offers. Something is not quite right.
If someone isn't willing to offer the two first-round draft picks that the Steelers would get next year anyway then there is no point in trading him for less. AND they'd still have to pay Bell what he wants. I don't think any GM is that dumb.
If he is not getting the majority of the carries I would be playing him on special teams too. Screw Bell...Money is the issue. Bell refuses to be the bell cow back when he comes back. He expects the Steelers to limit his touches. He is no longer a Steeler in my eyes. He can't be trusted to give his all even when he does finally show up. **** him and his agent.
I'm not even sure if he knows what the issue is.
If I heard correctly, he will not lose his game day checks if he plays 6 games. Is that true? He won't lose any of the $14.5M of the tag if he signs by week 10.
Incorrect. He does not get paid for each week he holds out and the $850k he's not being paid each week comes off the Steelers' salary cap hit for next year. If he shows up after week 10 then he would get paid for the remaining 6 games.
I wouldn't give that tool a penny. It's just crazy. Which is why this makes sense. https://www.gofundme.com/le039veon-...47081252-5588bc2bd47b4f9b&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w
Steelers don't front load a shitload of guaranteed. Nothing shady about their approach. It is they pay you well but you are going to earn it.Someone help me understand the ins-and-outs of the contract the team offered him in July.
We know the top line 5 yrs/$70M
I’ve also seen $10M signing bonus, $33M guaranteed after year 2, and $45M after year 3.
But can someone explain the rolling structure? Does that mean there’s a hypothetical in which Le’Veon gets cut 1 year into the deal and all he got was $10M? I’ve been under the impression $33M was the total guarantee but I’ve now got people trying to convince me that $10M was the only true guarantee. And while that would be shady, I also can’t imagine a world in which the Steelers cut him after year 1 but hey what do I know? Can someone break this down for me?

I tell you I personally am not in favor of that contact structure. A player doesn't have to worry about performance slacking because he is set up front. Kind of takes out a certain motivation factor. Now that we know Bell is motivated by the dollar more than anything else. Why would the Steelers want to take that motivation away? I think whoever gives him that high guaranteed will ultimately regret it.I hadn't read anything about a rolling guarantee, like that. It could be that, while $x amount is guaranteed, due to cash flow, it is paid over a 3 year period? I.e. cut or not, you still pay those amounts?
I maintain that the total contract for Bell was less important and he wanted $40m guaranteed.
