Tariffs

All the Demoncrat drama is fun to watch.

For those keeping score, the Dow was up 229 points today. Obviously, we're doomed.
“That’s not really anything, just 1/2%. That’s almost as if the market was down.” / Every Democrat in the country

I had about $40 grand sitting in cash from what I sold off In mid February. Friday I bought about $8 grand, if it slides again tomorrow, I will probably buy another $10 grand and hope we are nearing the bottom. I don’t think it will drop below 36-37K and will look to buy again @ 37K, I’ll save a bit to use if it hits 36K. If it looks to settle a couple days then I’ll get in then instead. I fully expect to see a 50K high before Trump’s term ends.
My prognostic powers are working out so far. I took $40k sale on 2/13 @ about 44,500 and bought back in between 4/4 & 4/10 with an average of about 38,500. So far that bit is up about 14%. Not a killing by any stretch, but considering the rest has not gained anything, I am very happy. In hindsight, I wish I had sold $100k - $200k instead of just $40k. Oh well, being greedy usually bites you in the azz.

Just point out where Trump is wrong about who pays them. If you can bring yourself to do so.
i dont know why i bother...

Who actually pays the tariff?

OK, so the importer remits the tariff to its nation’s customs service, but who really pays the tax on imported goods? The answer, I am sorry to say is, it depends.

A business will, if it can, pass its higher after-tax costs on to consumers. Thus, the price of Chinese TVs sold in the US may rise rapidly. But the firms selling those TVs eventually will face competition from companies that sell lower-cost TVs made in a third country that is not subject to the import tax. In that case, some of the tax may be paid by the firm’s shareholders in the form of lower profits or by its workers in the form of lower compensation.

Or, the firm may switch to a non-Chinese supplier and, in effect, nobody will pay the tariff. Still, demand for imported goods subject to the tax won’t go to zero right away—so the government will collect some revenue from the import tax. That’s what the president was bragging about.

You’re wasting your time

Pay wall, state your point if you even have one. Perhaps your lazy azz can ask AI to write it for you?
EU believes it is close to 15% reduction of the 30% tariff that was threatened as well as a slight reduction to current car tariffs. Wall Street liked it.
