he was a draft sleeper, but is quite obviously a name on the rise. If we want him, we'd likely need to take him early - with our 2nd 2nd round pick, if still available.

So this feels like a case where a player on the downside of his career knows that he is getting cut and is cherry picking a club he has a really good chance to start because the current starter isn’t great…
The red flags are all there… injuries, age, behavior …. Let’s pretend that we drop what is left of our salary cap after all the cuts and restructuring into bringing this guy in… does anyone feel good about him surviving the season without major injuries?
What if we do draft someone and he beats this guy out? Anyone not think he will become the latest “hostage” freed midseason because he has become a distraction? He certainly fits the mold of that…

Also it's weird that Lewan is under contract and saying things like "wants to be on the Steelers" and calling TJ "a potential teammate".
The Steelers may avoid him all together to make sure there are no tampering charges, because Lewan is reaching out under contract.

He hasn’t been released yet, but he feels he will be, due to his cap hit there.

Meh....depends on what he signs for and how long. And our Coach himself created the hostage situation with these FA's we bring in.

with his injury list 7 is the max I would go performance up to 10.
