Thank you Mike Tomlin

NFL Today crew, with exception of Cowher, absolutely hammered him about clock management, challenges, and player development. The even commented this might be the most talented team ever to not make the playoffs.

Cowher looked pretty upset during halftime. He said the Steelers were just going through the motions, and in the pregame, he said they seemed like a complacent team amid their slide in the second half of the season.

Cowher has obviously made a decision to not pull a Bradshaw, Bleier or Harrison by being overtly critical of Tomlin, but he has to be pissed off about what he's seeing,

When you watch the team, complacent was a good word to describe how they played many of those games. Now when they had New England and New Orleans, they played with a mission and intensity. Did not have that same mindset for the Jags, Broncos, Raiders, and Bengals.

The collapse of 2009 was pretty ****** 6-2 with a 3 win KC team, a 4 win Raiders team, and a 2 win Cleveland team coming up, we lost to them all, finished 9-7 missed the playoffs

Hmm, what's the common denominator between the 2009 collapse and the 2018 collapse. Let's see ... let me see ... OC? No, not that. DC? No, different DC in those two seasons.

What can it be ...??

You could tell how comfortable Tomlin is in his job. I will answer global questions on Tuesday. Tuesday. Jesus you should be cleaning out your stuff on Monday.

Fun fact: Since going to the SB in 2010, The Steelers have 3 playoff wins.
The Pats have 12
Seahawks 8
Ravens 6
Mike McCarthy had 5
Colin Kapernick has 4.

After giving it alot of thought, i will give my meaningless opinion. Tomlin should be fired, his style of treating players like men and giving them alot of freedom doesn't work. The AB fiasco is the last straw. The GM needs to go to, they should have got something for Bell last year.
After Legarette Blount, Bell missing meetings last year, Brown just out of control it is my opinion Tomlin has been tuned out, his 10 years here has been enough.

In the PG chat yesterday, the reporter noted that in Tomlin's presser, he slipped up and basically admitted he is still calling the D. He stated on the one TD miscue that "he" was late getting the call in. If this truly is the case, that is enough ammo for me to **** can Tomlin. Imagine this team next year if Tomlin, AB and Bell are gone. Yikes! AB should be on the trade block as well. He is apparently a bigger cancer in the locker than any of us knew about.

It happens to the best of them. All coaches eventually run their course.

He did some good things earlier on. Good for him. Now to do some good things moving forward change is needed.

I totally agree with you! If he had put his foot down as soon as AB throw his helmet that night, and benched his *** for a game, and same with Bell, they would both still be here!!
I say he no coach at all! Took over a great team and rode them to SB. But since then, if we didn’t happen to be in one of the worse divisions in the league, we wouldn’t have made playoffs at all! He has ZERO time management skills, doesn’t know when to use the Red Flag, and walks sideline during a game like he has know idea where he is!!
The talent this team has, and had, should have gotten a lot further then first round playoff LOSS!!!!!! Any other coach would have!

Wow digging up an old post and making a point that is not quite appropriate this season.

Yeah but I vividly remember in the 90's when Bill Cowher was called the "one and done" coach. Teams loaded with talent...Dawson, Lake, Greene, LLoyd, Thigpen, Searcy, Steed, Perry..

Not sure where you heard that. Cowher only had 2 one and out seasons the entire 90s.

Most people don't realize how many players Cowher had to replace every year. He almost had an entire new team every few years. They lost FAs every single year.

Bill Cowher was an incredible talent finder and coach but even he went through a lot of years of Steeler fan hate. Field goal Bill. Still love the guy and wish he never left. we would have a few more Lombardi's if he had stayed around.

Bill was 5-1 in playoffs with Ben in 3 years.

Tomlin is 8-7 in playoffs with Benin THIRTEEN years. 5 of those wins came with mostly Bill's players. Tomlin does less than more than most

It used to be Ben team, now no more thanks to AB, Bell Drama and BEN leaving the team in the crisis (ofcourse due to Injury).

If Tomlin prove himself will be his team otherwise it will be some others.

Bottom line we need Rings, Period.

Also, his coaching staff was constantly changing because guys kept getting hired away to be head coaches.
Capers
Gailey
Marvin Lewis
Haslett
Mularkey
Lebeau
Whisenhunt

Cowher also knew when a coach had to go. His first OC was Ron Erhardt but he recognized Chan Gailey was better and made him the de facto OC while Erhardt was still there. Cowher took offensive play calling duties himself midseason during the disaster of Ray Sherman.

Just pointing out that we have now rehired tge disaster that was Ray Sherman to coach our suddenly mediocre wr corps... there probably is no correlation... like replacing porter probably has nothing to do with the sudden uptick of the entire lb group... or how our all pro oline went from **** to great with munch then back to mediocre when he left....

I don’t blame Tomlin for everything some people do, but I 100% expect a head coach to put together a great staff... and i know Tomlin is lacking there...

You shouldn’t need a first rounder at every position to be ok on D... and nobody is going to convince me that the best OC and DC options just happened to coach with tomlin in some b grade college in arkansas... or that danny smith doesn’t still have a job because Tomlin knew him from tampa bay...

Both very alarming facts when stated and also very alarming considering how long our current MVP coach of the year has been present. I'm all for STEELERS success and maybe this is the year but history and past gut feelings say otherwise.

Salute the nation

Even if he get COTY not one of his staff will be interviewed for other jobs. No one is fooled about his level of expertise except the Rooneys and the media.

We barely beat a second string Bungles team at home when we had everything to play for and they had nothing to play for. That's all you need to know about our coaching.

And this year we fell behind 14-0 to Miami at home and couldn't regain the lead until the 4th quarter in a must win.

Bottom Line? This will be the 9th season out of 13 without a playoff win.
