The “Bright” Side

This will be the game they inexplicably win and convince themselves they are fine
Normally I’d agree with this. However, the defense this year is so putrid that I think Jonathan Taylor might rush for 200 yards. The Steelers pass defense has been so *** lately that I think they will overcorrect and give up huge chunk running plays. If we win it will be 35-31 or 31-30 or 38-35. Something like that.

Thank you Fiji, great post.

I am one that thinks, if we somehow upset Indy, currently IND is a 3.5 pts fav, it could be the launching point to something good. I think those odds, of us upsetting Indy, are too big.

The pivotal moment of changing hearts and minds, and schemes, was the loss to Cincy. That should have been the "awakening" and catapult, but it wasn't that at all. Look at the D players...they are defeated. They look defeated and talk defeated.

IND covers the 3.5 pts
That's an easy bet to take, if I were a gambling man Indy should be a safe choice

Rooney and Tomlin are not wise enough to see that by either having Tomlin step down or put on his big boy pants and letting him go, will actually save Tomlin‘s legacy as a Hall of Fame NFL head coach.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I just can’t see Coach Tomlin turning the defense around this season.
And if that doesn’t happen this whole season will be epic failure, and I don’t know of any man that would want his life works legacy to be remembered as a complete and utter failure.
But then again, I do not personally know any man who is paid millions of dollars to be mediocre.
There is no way Art would, and should not, fire Mediocre Mike if this season ends the run on consecutive Tomlinships. The optics of that would reflect poorly on him as an owner. 18 years of winning and when he finally slips, he's gone that quickly? Now, us true fans of the organization, or at least what it once was, understands Mike is old, stale, and just doesn't fit today's NFL, but those fans and talking heads on the outside looking in see consistent winning as a great thing.
