As I recall that story it was first asked to Chuck Noll after a game that the Steelers won and he said America's team is who ever is winning now, we are Pittsburgh's team. I am too lazy to see if there are links or quotes to that effect, and that does not mean it could not have been discussed by the Rooneys prior to that taking place.

wut happened did we go back in time

ohweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

that has been discussed here MANY times....we have even posted links to a Dallas paper where a reporter had a story about it prior to one of the last Steeler SB wins....

Its still super kewl to gloat over it. No one else can

Slow news day, and it was a featured topic on Steelers depot.

Who is Aghanistan's Team? I think maybe the 49ers. Talk among yourselves. I need to check the turkey.

LOL I have been telling that story for years - glad to see the Mr Rooney has now verified it ..

Well known amongst Steeler Nation but when I impart that story to others (non-Steeler unwashed) they scoff.

It's actually on one of the steelers DVD's can't remember which one. I think its the history of the steelers one. I just remember watching it on one of them.

They also denied chris berman an interview, when the ESPN was just starting out. They didn't recognize the espn as a network player, in those days.
