The Coronavirus thread

"The most striking thing about Trump's approach to the pandemic six months in is how little he cares. There is no emotion in talking about the victims or the fight America faces. He treats it like it's a political annoyance that hurts him more than anyone." - Joe Lockhart

What else would you expect from a narcissistic sociopath? I guess at this point, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Tell that to the Black families he has personally called and expressed sympathy towards after their children were killed by your esteemed violent leftist rioters in the past month. They spoke glowingly about how empathetic he was when he called them. So Joe Lockhart (whoever the hell he is) can stuff it.

I can't speak for leftist unions in big cities and frankly I don't care about them. I live in flyover country and people in flyover country usually want to work. You won't find a teacher around here who wants to stay home any more. Hell, they were itching to go back after the first 3 weeks out of school last year.

45 minutes is nothing compared to hours of wearing a mask. We had to do it this last week of summer school and it was AWFUL. We wore it for 5 hours. I can’t handle them in my face for more than 5 minutes at a time, so my anxiety was super high. As much as I want to get back to school and to normal work, if I have to wear a mask all day, I’ll stay home and do the online BS school. I thought I could handle the mask in small doses but I was wrong. And honestly- if masks work, why isn’t everything open to full capacity?

Because tons of people aren't wearing them!

Your comfort level is your own. I'll be honest, I just don't get it. Tons of people working in grocery stores, restaurants, doctors' offices etc seem to be able to wear them all day with no problem whatsoever.

I have worn them all day for work btw my work is very slow right now so only a couple of days. Was it ideal? No. Was it better than possibly infecting the elderly people I work with? Absolutely.

And I wasn't speaking for you. Only about my own experiences with teachers here.

That's the primary reason the numbers have crept down in the EU. People simply accepted the realities of this worldwide pandemic and have cooperated fully. Every day, everywhere you go, you see masks on trams, on the metro, in shops, pharmacies, etc. It's become the new norm, no big deal. No hissyfits, cries of governmental overreach, paranoia, freak-outs or loony conspiracy theories. It's the least people can do to help mitigate the crisis.

Joe Lockhart? What did you expect him to say? Joe ******' Lockhart ...smh

Joe Lockhart? What did you expect him to say? Joe ******' Lockhart ...smh

Because it is so blatantly obvious and self-evident, he said exactly what I expected him to say, what any rational person would say, who hasn't become completely unmoored and bamboozled by this clown in the WH.

Only 4 more years to *****. You going to riot when Joe Dirt loses? Take yourself a flight over from Hungaria and get in the fight!

You always ignore the wretched actions of a party that has turned so anti American you'd think of them as a communist party in the former soviet union.

The only clowns are the killer clowns you adore. I'm just waiting to throw down and get it over with.

A LOT of people are getting really pissed. You know the normal people who just want to work, raise a family and pursue their dreams. When this little commie insurgency reaches us, it's ******* game on.

So go ahead and defund the police, remove them or whatever and see just what the **** you get.

Get your head out of your ***.

This second wave of Covid cases has pretty much doomed Trump's re-election.

I hate to say it, but there WAS a chance that if cased fell during the summer and things got back to somewhat normal AND the economy started to roar back, Trump could be re-elected, but now? I don't think there is much of a chance.

I haven't changed my vote (but my vote doesn't really matter in Delaware).

Covid changed everything. Really unfortunate. I'm sure there are liberals out there celebrating secretly in their hearts that as bad as Covid is, it's worth getting rid of Trump.

The problem is there is no "winning" on Covid. And Trump can't spin a win no matter what happened. It was always going to be political (no matter if Hillary was President or not). It was always going to be a way for politicians and Washington to take advantage to push their agendas. It was going to be a huge impact on world and U.S. economies.

I obviously don't "blame" stuff like this on Trump as much as the left does/is/will. It was a sinking ship all along.

Fall is going to suck having the kids stay at home again. My daughter just didn't do that well with the on-line learning lessons. I had to really buckle down with her over the last two weeks to catch her up. I wasn't TOO worried since I thought it was just one semester but I can't have her fall behind significantly come fall. I'm going to have to spend some major time with her each week to make sure she passes MY standards and not just skating through.

The people I feel worst for are college kids. This just wrecks your college experience. I mean those years you first move out of the house and have that type of freedom are awesome. It's such an important time to learn and grow up. How to handle alcohol. How to handle sex. How to manage time and work. That's really HALF of what tuition is paying for. A somewhat safe haven for your kids to grow up and take that first step out of the house. College isn't just about classes and school work. It's the whole social experience. All of that gone for a year until there is a vaccine.

Look, I'm as conservative and a Trump supporter as many here. But Covid is real. Wear your masks when you go shopping. Don't eat out at restaurants. Get take out. Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. Only have small get togethers with families/people you trust. Do things outside.

Ask yourself, if I get Covid, could I trace it to EXACTLY where i got it? Because if you can't, you're probably being too lax.

N95 masks don't stop you from exhaling Covid into the air -- they are made for filtering industrial contaminants. Surgical masks don't filter it during the intake stroke. Cloth masks are a chain link fence and mosquito both ways. Maybe we just shouldn't drink the Kool Aid and first and foremost understand that Covid was not an accident but by design from start to finish. Nor is the fomented and manipulated hysteria aimed at destroying our morale and hope for the future and accepting what they have in store for us. I mean no disrespect, but 95% of the severity of Covid is what we have allowed them to make it in our minds and in our willingness to accept the Orwellian changes and new terms in the Social Compact that we as a free people did not sign on for.

Masks are a Reassurance Ritual and nothing more. Fauci even said so himself in March.

We've got to live and operate according to the truth. Not the psyop of the DS media and letting that wear us down to a point of resigned capitulation. If we don't wake up, we're going to lose it all soon.

The most encouraging sign to date has nothing to do with a vaccine: It's that businesses are starting to defy unlawful closure orders. We need more of that.

By then I'm sure we will have new strains of it as it mutates. It's going to run its course. A good 15-30 million have it or had it. I'm doing my little hygiene part. We all are,but it's minimal at best to stop this unwanted house guest. But it's a good psychological effect on the population with our bare minimum styling masks. I get it. I also get that it is going to absolutely destroy the country and dive us into a place we don't want to go if we don't saddle the **** up and march forward.
Doomed us to a hard left state run country? I think not. And that's what we're going to get. You think our freedoms are getting tweaked now, just wait and see what fundamental change is in its full implementation.

Death rates have flattened in the US and the US is country of 330 million people. You don't understand Americans. Unlike your frame, we have never believed the government is a benevolent Shepherd. We believe as George Washington said that "government is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master."

Nothing we have seen in 2020 contradicts that. The governments have destroyed the economy and way of life way more than a virus.

Well... we will see. I don't WANT him to be President, believe me.

But again, Washington is broken. The only method of governance is executive orders, memorandum and changing the priorities/enforcement of regulatory and executive branch agencies. And many of these changes will be challenged in court by conservative, state DA's.

Congress has no power now because they cannot/will not agree on any meaningful legislation that could lead to one side or the other side to claim "victory" or "look good". Obstruction is too easy a path in Congress for short-term gains.

We have ALL argued here with liberals that "peek-in" that Trumps changes/decisions/actions are not the end of the world. That the sky-is-falling rhetoric from Tibs and his croonies has been used so often, so many times in the past 3-4 years that is have become Jack crying wolf for the 100th time.

Do not fall into that same trap. Biden will be a horrible, figurehead, weak president controlled and pulled into a million different directions by the identity coalitions the left has decided to create for their own voting benefit. Biden will be in a unwinnable situation because there is NO LAW or NO DECISION that will make all or even most of his liberal base happy. Right now they are all aligned because he's "Not Trump". But once elected that all goes away. The left is fatally fractured.

Biden will last 4 years. Hopefully a majority republican Senate stops him from going completely off the rails. Even a minority will help philabuster some crazy left-wing socialist ****.

The only big thing (and this is very big) about the Senate will be how left the person replacing RBG on the court will be. Republican senate means someone like Garland. Democratic senate means someone like RBG.

Those things matter because you see all the 7-2 rulings you get sometimes on even moderate issues.

No wonder Trump got elected. Geez.

Sweden sees high COVID-19 fatality rate after forgoing lockdown

https://www.cbsnews.com/video/sweden-sees-high-covid-19-fatality-rate-after-forgoing-lockdown/#x

A buddy of mine's father and uncle just died not long ago in Stockholm. Folks there have realized what a dumbass move the 'herd immunity' strategy was. Guess that's not the case with the Trump base stateside.

You're either willfully ignorant, or just a stupid ************. 'One of the deadliest outbreaks in the world'? Seriously? I guess you didn't read the thorough article on Sweden I posted just a few posts before yours, or you have some serious reading comprehension issues.

Sweden, with no lockdown, has less deaths than Belgium (lockdown), Netherlands (lockdown) -- similar population levels -- and other neighboring countries that were locked down that may have 4x the population but 6x the mortality rate (Italy, Spain). Norway, Finland & Switzerland did much better, but to say Sweden has one of the deadliest outbreaks in the world is just a plain lie. Which isn't surprising coming from you, ******* troll.

I think you are wrong on this.

The covid molecule is very small. Small enough to go through a N95 mask.

But the molecules are not by themselves in the air. They are ATTACHED AND IN WATER VAPOR/DROPLETS.

This molecule grows best and reproduces in wet, moist conditions. That's why when one person has it in their system, it is in the respiratory system IN WATER.

You exhale water vapor when you talk. You exhale water vapor A LOT when you yell or sneeze or cough. You exhale water vapor a little when you breath.

The masks block WATER VAPOR!

Blow on a glass and see if you can fog it up with a mask on. Try it.

The larger the water droplets/vapor you exhale, the more concentration of the virus exists floating around (not long but enough).

You contract the disease if you reach a simple threshold of getting enough molecules of the virus in your mouth/throat/lungs (or you touch something and rub your eyes - but that is rare).

Getting to this threshold matters upon two things: CONCENTRATION in the air, which means the size of the water molecules in the air and how many Covid molecules are in that water. TIME you are exposed and breathing those water droplets.

Think of the mask as a fence if you must. But the fence is keeping the rats out that are carrying the Black Plague. The fence isn't saving you from the Plague exactly. But if you keep the rats away, you will.

That will occur only if they allow him to speak, which they won't.

He's got to open that trap pretty soon. I'm sure they're thinking of anyway to get him out of the debates. Which he will get pummeled and they know it.

I think you underestimate how bad a candidate Joe will be.

Joe is bad but is very popular in PA which is a big problem for Trump. If Joe picks Keisha Bottoms he could end up winning GA. That would be lights out for Trump.

So, we'll have a POTUS named Keisha Bottoms? Judging by the mess black female mayors and solicitors are making everywhere, no thanks.

After one named "Barack Hussein Obama," I'm trusting my instincts on this.

Even if there is "some" efficacy at least perception-wise with mass mask wearing if not if not firmly substantiated by the science, the issue is this: If they can force you to wear masks to live and buy necessities, guess what?

They can also force you to take their vaccine and whatever is in it to do the same things and for the same benevolent reason and conformity to a world envisioned by Bill Gates.

Your very Constitutional freedom or what's left of it to work and travel will soon depend on a Vaccine Certificate.

There is way more at stake here than "exploding Corona numbers."

The sooner we draw a line in the sand, the better. The sooner churches and businesses defy unbiblical and un-Constitutional diktats, the better. At some point, the tide will be too great if not already.

Norway, Finland & Switzerland did much better, but to say Sweden has one of the deadliest outbreaks in the world is just a plain lie. Which isn't surprising coming from you, ******* troll.
