But your side made it political and you all drank the **** up. No different than your media having you all believe that George W. literally created Hurricane Katrina, had it delivered to New Orleans and he intentionally killed Americans. That's what they said, LITERALLY.
It just got nastier a decade later and they told you Trump killed Americans with COVID. The fact ya'll believe that just highlights your collective stupidity.
It's been hashed out here so many times, you didn't listen then, you won't now, but I'll repeat it for posterity sake.
Trump shut down travel from China, while Democrats mocked him for the decision and called him a xenophobe.
Trump followed every directive Fauci and Birx and others suggested he do. Every one.
Trump mobilized the greatest response we have seen to an epidemic or pandemic in history. Period.
Trump enabled the most rapid development of vaccines known to mankind.
Trump ramped up and enabled massive testing in such short time it was frankly astounding.
He did so by being ingenious. He knows the Federal Government couldn't get it done alone. Hell the Government hasn't been able to make Amtrak profitable - EVER. Look at the USPS as another example. If we had waited on the FDA and other Government agencies to react, we'd still be waiting. What he did was to mobilize the commercial sector. He brought in corporations and asked them to change what they were doing, roll up their sleeves in a time of national emergency and re-tool to attack the pandemic. He had Walgreens and Walmart doing testing before we knew it. He had GM manufacturing ventilators (which we never needed). He had thousands of companies do things like switch their core manufacturing to areas like manufacturing PPE.
He invoked the Defense Production Act 59 times to bypass Government largesse and bureaucracy to get things done.
And he did. It really was March of 2020 when the **** hit the fan. By December, he and his machine he built had vaccines being administered to Americans.
We had contact tracing going by summer. I know, because it was being done in my state at that point.
I'm not sure what else you would have had a leader do, to be honest.
You continue to obfuscate the facts because Orange Man bad. The reality is, he did a hell of a job.
Now you'll come along and point to other countries and how they fared so much better. And we've been round and round that mulberry bush. I'll ask you to explain how, you'll deflect, offer no evidence at all of what these countries did, and say things like bubble and cuckoo's nest bullshit responses.
By and large - and the scientific community has already spoken on this, I've presented their findings - the #1 indicator of how countries fared with deaths due to COVID was the country's general overall health. Ours sucks, we got hit hard.
Even 3rd world countries fared better because they aren't fat and diabetic.
You won't agree. So I'll ask you again. Please explain what other countries did so much better (provide links) and bestow upon us all what you think should have been done in addition to the amazing work that was done.
