I don't have much to say about all this bull-hockey, but I do want to see this thread make it to 100 pages.

It's 85 degrees here in Upstate SC. People were overrunning the Lowes Garden aisle the last 2 days buying flowers, compost, and other spring project stuff to take advantage of during the time off.

Abstract
"This paper investigates how air temperature and humidity influence the transmission of COVID-19. After estimating the serial interval of COVID-19 from 105 pairs of the virus carrier and the infected, we calculate the daily effective reproductive number, R, for each of all 100 Chinese cities with more than 40 cases. Using the daily R values from January 21 to 23, 2020 as proxies of non-intervened transmission intensity, we find, under a linear regression framework for 100 Chinese cities, high temperature and high relative humidity significantly reduce the transmission of COVID-19, respectively, even after controlling for population density and GDP per capita of cities. One degree Celsius increase in temperature and one percent increase in relative humidity lower R by 0.0383 and 0.0224, respectively. This result is consistent with the fact that the high temperature and high humidity significantly reduce the transmission of influenza. It indicates that the arrival of summer and rainy season in the northern hemisphere can effectively reduce the transmission of the COVID-19."

IMO, if we can keep the government from destroying America, the Coronavirus will run its natural course. Thank God for global warming.

Over the past 3+ years, I bet if you did a graph that plotted every time he spoke with a position on the market as compared to the next day or two, the markets went up.

Liberals are funny. For the past 3 years, the market success is due to, according to Libs, Obama and his policies. Now, the market going down is a result of Trump. Has nothing at all to do with COVID-19 and the entire economy being shuttered.

Trying to have a little fun. So because of all of this quarantining, immense amounts of copulating will be happening. Come December, we will have the first onslaught of the next big wave of babies like the baby boomers after WWII.

Give me your best names for this massive generation of kids that will come.

This may be what saves Europe from declining birthrates and Muslim colonization. This may wind up being one of the most pivotal events of modern times on many levels.

When you seeing "Ayaan" on the top of baby name lists in these Euro countries, there is an existential problem.

I’ve been saying that the economy was fake, based on people borrowing and spending more and more and that it wouldn’t be resilient if and when the **** hit the fan.

So was it resilient, at all?

When you can name any economic model that would have suffered through the ENTIRE country and much of the world being literally shut down, let me know. We can discuss.

This is certainly extraordinary. I mean, entire states are being shut down. No economy would survive this intact. The real measure is if it rebounds as **** gets back to "normal." Then we'll know.

This economic structure survived the world wars with actual rationing and long term supply chain disruptions... this couple month blip will do nothing more than provide the cover for the correction that was coming anyhow...

No question, it COULD get really bad everywhere else in the world. Hopefully with the measures being taken it won't, and without completely destroying the economy in the process.
This is one of those situations where Monday morning quarterbacks will be having a field day.
 
I want somebody to explain how China, the epicenter of this whole thing, suddenly has no new cases and no new deaths. Their economy is recovering. And here is the rest of the world, the disease is accelerating with new infections and deaths multiplying exponentially. What do they know and what did they do? What aren’t they sharing with the world?

Here in America, we are shutting the nation down, literally, with no end in sight. That trade deal doesn’t seem like such a win anymore. Something ******* stinks, and China has a lot to answer for.
